Has anyone ever published a book on Kindle? I see a lot of people online who encourage a person to send their manuscript, free of charge, to assess whether it is written well enough to publish on Kindle and say they will let you know. I just don't know if it is legitimate. Please advise.

If I was going to send book to someone to assess if it was going to written well enough to publish on Kindle and say they will let you I would damn sure that I made a copy and did whatever it take to make sure that I had enough info to make sure that you wrote it before I sent it to them so that they would not steal the book from you.

There are many people that are lamenting that they wrote a book or a song and they lost all rights to it because some unscrupulous person stole it from them.

An author wrote a column in the WSJ about a year ago or so and was illuminating readers about the fact that people were able to go back into his book and change things. He was wondering how many text books, etc have been tapered with. So now we not only have "believe nothing you hear and half of what you read" to "believe nothing you hear or read" which has greatly compromise communications in this country...who are you gonna believe???????????????????????????

I have published a book on Amazon Kindle and it is very easy. You basically write it and then upload it to Kindle. For all the details, just Google "Kindle Direct Publishing". It will explain everything to you. You don't need anyone to "look it over for you". Have fun and let us know when your book is on Amazon!

With amazon you are retaining the rights. You can also set it up for POD (print on demand) through amazon as well. If someone wants a paperback version of the book they print it out one copy at a time retailing for around 12 to 15 dollars depending on the length. There are so many people going this route that it is hard to get people to notice your book. You will have to promote it yourself without a publisher to do it for you. If you have a series and make the first one free for a month and it gets listed on kindle buffet people will download the free one and if they like it they will then buy the sequel. Then you get reviews and it can grow from there. This is what my friend in books at amazon advised me.
