Just posted on the " Buffalo News " site :

As much as 14 inches of snow is forecast by Wednesday evening for some parts of Buffalo Niagara, according to a lake-effect snow warning posted by the National Weather Service this afternoon.

The wintry blast is expected from early Tuesday evening through late Wednesday for southern Erie, Wyoming, Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties, according to the forecast, with up to 5 inches Tuesday night, 5 more inches Wednesday and up to four inches Wednesday night.

With west winds expected to gust up to 40 mph, blowing and drifting snow could reduce visibility to a quarter-mile, according to the National Weather Seervice.

Northern Erie County, including the Buffalo metro area and points north, along with Genesee County, were placed under a lake-effect snow advisory from late Tuesday afternoon to early Wednesday morning. Depending on the direction of the wind, portions of these areas could receive up to 5 inches of snow.

Stiff winds with gusts of up to 35 mph also could also produce blowing and drifting snow, with reduced visibility and slippery roads, forecasters said.

And by Wednesday afternoon they will have it all plowed and the streets clean whereas in Cincinnati 10 inches of snow would paralyze the city for a week. All you Buffalo haters, note that the snow is South of the city in the ski slopes where it belongs for winter fun. The city itself, a measly 5 inches, and the schools will likely stay open. Yeah, I do kind of miss it, just a teeny little bit.

I don't miss it but when I saw it in TV the other day with the football games I actually got excited to see it snowing. I just don't want to live in it.

I am still here close to Buffalo. We will get to our Florida home on January 2nd.

The grass is green today with not a drop of snow in sight. We are sure hoping it stays in Buffalo and doesn't reach us just east of the city!!!

When I lived in that area, lots of snow meant no school, sledding and building snowmen, and coming back indoors for hot chocolate.I do miss that!

For you Buffalo people....the weather here in TV has been salubrious. The decorations here are beautiful. But walking around hearing Christmas carols in 80 degree weather. It's just wrong!

Yep...one of our television meteoologists/weathermen from " the olden days", Tom Jolls, used to use that term to describe the weather when it was absolutely perfect. And....that's what the weather here in TV has been!

I don't care if I ever see snow again!

It was fun though to watch the Eagles playing in 8 inches of snow.

January 5th for us. And we are getting lots of snow in Alberta, not big snow falls our way, but we seem to get an inch or so every day.

I figure we will have snow on the ground for the first two days of our trip south, then hopefully we can wave bye bye to the white stuff for this winter.

We are up in cold, cold VT with a storm that may be hitting us this weekend. God willin' and the crick don't rise and we don't get a snowstorm, we're headed out the 27th to our home in TV. Yes, there is something wrong with the picture. It's called children and grandchildren.
