Smile Remote PC software

Anyone using a remote PC access software? I am reading about logmein and teamviewer.

My specific need is remote support of my mother's PC when she may be having tech challenges. Rather than her calling a tech, which would involve $$$, she could call me so that I could "drive" her PC from my remote location.

Specifically looking for remote support experiences with Windows. THANKS.

Try Ammy software. I have used it and it provides that type access. I have a logmeinrescue account and use it all the time, but it's expensive. Just search Ammy.

TeamViewer is what I have installed on my computer and have had a few people log in it. Very easy to use and works great. It is a staple for a couple of software businesses that I am aware of with hundreds if not thousands of clients.

My son and I use TightVNC. I would not say it's exactly seamless.

Thanks for the feedback on experiences with remote PC software. I'll be arriving via Orlando on Christmas Eve with a new toy that will need it. CHEERS.

logmein.com was the tool I downloaded on the new pc. It is easy, allows multiple users(password protection) and is free. For those needing help with rudimentary computer issues, highly recommend downloading logmein.com and sharing that login with someone you trust and can provide pc assistance.
THANKS and Cheers from Baja

Logmein.com Is what I would recommend. We operate the paid version for more features. Its not complicated to operate, and it is lightning fast. If you need help setting it up, give us a holler.

As logmein just changed to a fee service, I have switched to Teamviewer. It works.

Did you have to open any inbound ports on your home network router to get teamviewer to work?

Was there any router configuration required at all (including the firewall on the router)?

In my past life, we used a free service called Join Me. It a product from LogMeIn and worked well on both PC's and Mac's.
