Default Fitbit bracelet....anybody using one?

If yes, what do you like about it? Dislike?
Would you buy it again?

Appears the best price I have seen so far is $91 on Amazon.

Yes, I bought one at Amazon, but I am a sucker for anything that tells me I'm going to lose a bunch of weight!

I followed it for a while and I think it was an incentive to cut back on food and walk more, but now it is in the drawer with all the other miracle weight loss thingees I have purchased over the years.

I am following a plan that I like much more than any other. I watched a Dr.Oz one evening last year and saw someone called Chris Powell, he was so sensible in his approach that I downloaded his info and just follow that now. His premise is that every body has a set point and needs a certain number of calories to stay healthy, you get that by multiplying your weight by 12. If you eat more calories than that you gain weight, if you eat less, you lose. It works. If anyone has an interest in this check our Chris Powell's Custom Weight Loss Blueprint on line.

for $100 I think it's overpriced for what it does. Polar puts out some really nice watches that does the same thing and it tells time and tracks many more things.

My wife and I have had Fitbits for several months. Frankly, they make us more aware of our activty and inactivity. I like the sleep pattern function although it does show me that I am restless much of the time. The multifunction feedback provides additional incentive to improve our fitness. I do not use the caloric function - seems a lot of effort. Overall, we would certainly purchase them again.

I have a Fitbit Flex and think it's pretty cool. Hopefully a reminder that I need to move more! Happy New Year gang!

I've had the Fitbit Flex for a few weeks and love it! Keeps me aware of my activity, sleep and most of all the number of calories in Panera's Cinnamon Roll (620) or a cup of creamy tomato soup (290).

I have the fitbit zip, cheaper then the flex. Makes me more aware of my activity, 10,000 steps a day, I've walked 500 miles since Sept

I bought a fitbit flex.... I used it every day until it broke on the 31th day. I know that happens.. so this isn't to complain about it breaking. We got no response from Fitbit so I have a broken flex. Again not the complaint.

Now to the reason I'm responding. Fitbit counts your steps. It's a pedometer. An expensive one... What I really needed and have now purchased is a Polar Ff7 It tells me if I'm working out in my heart range as well as tell me how many calories I've burned. I think this fits my needs better.

I guess what I'm trying to say is think about what you want it for. I don't walk as much as I work out and the fitbit didn't really calculate that.

I use a Bodymedia arm band which I really like, but it is a little too conspicuous for my taste. I have been thinking of changing to a Fitbit because you can clip to your bra or pants so it is unseen. Also, I've recently seen an ad from Walgreen's that they give you all kinds of their points when you use a Fitbit bought there. Points for walking, logging your food etc. I'm going to check it out!

I have discovered there are several apps available on the iphone that will do all of what I would want in a fitbit and for free.

They work in the background and can run/monitor/record all throughout the day and then summarize and keep a history.

I just saved $100.
