Saw that.

I expect rave reviews. Have heard lovely things from all who have been there. I think Gretchen will enjoy it.

yes, Gracie, here is my rave review...nine of us went and enjoyed the Grand tour, which costs $30 plus tax as opposed to the regular $20 tour...the grand tour was begun in jan now that the third floor is open to the public...this is actually the living quarters of the owners and amazing to see how they have fitted closets and bathrooms into an old home. they still offer the $20 tour on other days. in July there will be a special Quilt exhibition. the tour took about an hour and a half, and told a lot about John B. Stetson who sounds like a very admirable gentleman. years ago i had a boss by that same name on long island and he was wonderful...wonder if he is related he always referred to his wife of many years as "my bride", which i thought was so sweet. anyway, we had lunch beforehand at Mac's aka Main Street Grill downstairs and they treated birthday girl Helen to a nice dessert. Food was very good...after the tour and looking around the grounds, we drove around the Stetson University and then returned to the upstairs Mac's for dessert and cool drinks etc before the ride home...too tired to do much shopping but would like to go back to Deland another time in cooler weather just to attend the Art Museum and browse the many cute shops...hope everyone had a good time...the trip is roughly an hour and twenty minutes or so, and thank you very much to the drivers!

It was quite the pleasure meeting and traveling with everyone and wonderful at Mac's on Main St. When they brought the cake and ice cream for Helen. I do believe she enjoyed it tremendously!! So thoughtful of you!! Thank you for excluding me I very much enjoyed the day!!
