Robert Mitchum - Rotten Tomatoes
He played a lot of dark as well as some very light characters. I really enjoyed this one-- Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison - Rotten Tomatoes |

Cape Fear scared the hellouta me.
Tal, as soon as I saw the title of your post, I had a flashback…….. ……..1960-something ……..at the drive-in……… ………in his dad’s Buick……. …….CAPE FEAR! …….Mitchum creeping around in the night……. …….I was terrified, petrified……. …….That shoulda taught me to never watch the movie at the drive-in. ![]() Boomer PS: Never wanted to see the re-make Last edited by Boomer; 08-06-2022 at 03:44 PM. |

My favorite is the classic war movie "The Enemy Below" where is the Captain of a US Destroyer Escort in WWII hunting a German sub.

El Dorado was a favorite even if it was not his best film performance. He was a great actor and caught your attention when he was on the screen. Another example of breaking the mold.

Cape Fear (1962) Even though Di Niro's 1991 Max Cady was excellent Mitchum's broke the mold.

I was never a big fan of his movies, but I did get to work with him and to his fans, he was really a nice and fun person.

Thunder Road was his best. I think Cape Fear was next and then many of his war movies.
