I think the truck and/or driver was supposed to be supernatural or possessed. Did the truck really exist outside the conflict with Dennis Weaver? We never see the driver, right? I have to rewatch, its been awhile. I remember a family vacation from NJ to CA. I was a kid and was worried about seeing a truck like that or the gang from Hot Rods To Hell terrorizing my family out in the desert. lol

Default Duel

Heart pounding is a good description. Dennis Weaver was very good.

We have to remember that they are making a 90 minute+ movie, and to disable the truck would have made it a 45 minute film. I always think of White Christmas. If Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney had discussed their problem, the film would have been 45 minutes long.

I watched it last night. It was $3.99, but worth it, even though I could have watched a thousand other movies for free.

Another good movie was "Breakdown" with Kurt Russell. Also $3.99.

Default Early 70’s car chase movies

I watched this as a kid an vowed to never own a car that was so underpowered it could be outrun by a truck! A not so subtle nod to the muscle car era….

Other outstanding car chase movies of the time include “Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry”, (I was in love with Susan George and Peter Fonda for the ladies) and “Vanishing Point”.

Just watching the background of the world in the early 70’s is fascinating…..

"Unhinged" a recent movie starring Russell Crowe is a much more scary road rage movie from 2020

I just got the Blu-Ray for the movie for about $10.00 and tax from Amazon Prime. It has extras and I love Blu-Rays.

Just curious, but if you buy a Blu-Ray disc for a movie that was made 50 years ago, will the picture resolution and sound be any better than a regular DVD disc?
