Default Favorite Ben Affleck movie either as actor, director, or both?

I have up to now been a big Matt Damon rather than Ben Affleck fan. Affleck, however, is closing in on that admiration for these two Wunderkinds. Damon also kind of lost me with that "intrinsically paternalistic" jab at the reporter and her cameraman. No sense going off on someone just trying to do her job.

What's your favorite Affleck movie? He could win an Oscar for Argo on February 24, 2013 for Best Picture even if right now I am leaning on Lincoln to win most of the major awards from the Academy.

I haven't seen Argo but Good Will Hunting was a great movie with very enjoyable scenes.

Lincoln looks like it will be a critics darling. Daniel Day-Lewis's performance was spectacular as I felt as it was Lincoln on the screen.

I highly recommend Argo -- one of the best movies I saw in 2012. The Town was also excellent, but for those who don't like violence should probably not see The Town.

I have not seen Good Will Hunting in years -- I should rent it again.

They definitely deserved their ticket to the "A" list with Good Will Hunting.

Good Will Hunting did not make the AFI's list of the Best 100 U.S. movies but it probably would be one of the those listed from 100-200. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv...afi100list.htm

Another list has Good Will Hunting at 156 for Top 250 Movies (Worldwide but chosen mostly by Americans). http://www.imdb.com/chart/top

My son is a ringer for Affleck for similar size, facial features, smile, and brunette cute brute. I'll always be a fan, and am happy for his success with directing. My son's name is Will, so good will hunting was a film we saw together when he was not yet grown. an inspiring flick.

I liked The Town but I think Argo was his best.
Best Picture would most probably go to Lincoln but I think Affleck's got a shot at Best Actor. It's going to be tough with Lewis and Jackman in the mix. All performances were great.

Armageddon. Had to include this vote bc the movie should at least be listed.

As AJ, he played a decent enough character in a pretty good action movie. The role wasn't a talent challenge....

Armageddon was really fun as a Blockbuster and I really enjoyed the music.

You left out Pearl Harbor. And of course who could forget Gigli?

There are only ten options available and I did include a choice of some other movie not among those listed. I tried to give the movies which some Ben Affleck fan might like the most for whatever reason.

No worries! And no explanations are needed. The poll was a pleasant diversion. I appreciate your efforts.

Tal would have to create alist of his ten worst movies.

Both of those movies wouldn't have come near a vote for a best picture award. Never saw Gigli and don't ever plan to.
