Did you know that with Netflix, you can put in a brand new movie that has just been released in theaters, and save it. That way as soon as it's released on video you get it.

Blockbuster.com has that feature too.

Just saw Mr. Hulot's Holiday on DVD. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0046487/ Had never seen this one before even though it is from 1953. I ordered it after reading about it in Roger Ebert's The Great Movies (2002). It is in this book along with The Shawshank Redemption, The Silence of the Lambs, Some Like It Hot and one of my favorites Sunset Blvd .

This book by Roger Ebert is definitely worth a look about which movies to get on DVD.

Saw "3:10 to Yuma" last night.
If you like Westerns, this one was pretty good. I heard it compared to "The Unforgiven", but I didn't tink it was that good. But it is definitely worth seeing.

Did not think 3:10 to Yuma was as good as The Unforgiven. The Unforgiven is one of the best westerns up there with High Noon, Shane and The Wild Bunch

Just got Shiloh Falls with my Blockbuster exchange program. I can exchange the DVD I got in the mail for something I pick up at a local Blockbuster store. This unfortunately looks like another stinker which so many of the recent direct-to-DVD westerns have turned out to be. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0804541/.

All you kids seem fixated with modern stuff at the expense of truly great cinematic accvomplishments, e.g.,
The Prisoner of Zenda
A Tale of Two Cities
Lost Horizon
If I Were King
Random Harvest

and, of course, Around the World in Eighty Days

There were a few other actors who turned in decent performance:
39 Steps
The Third Man
The Man Who Knew Too Much
To Be or Not to Be
Yankee Doodle Dandy
Invasion of the Body Snatchers
Tarantula
The Day the Earth Stood Still
Dr. Strangelove, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
David & Lisa
The Mouse That Roared
Spartacus
The Exorcist
The Loved Ones
Murder By Death

and many, many more

You are welcome. It's not quickly paced like many recent slapstick comedies but it was definitely worth watching. If you like Mr. Bean, you should like Mr. Hulot.

I hate recommending movies, but you cannot go wrong with Dave and City Slickers. Nothing to offend, and both in good humor. As for my taste, give me North by Northwest, Fargo and A Hard Day's Night.

One of my favorites I haven't seen mentioned was 'Somethings Got To Give' with Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton.
