Default Hope Springs

We just saw the movie Hope Springs with Tommy Lee Jones and Meryl Streep, two of my favorite actors. Although I'd give them 2 thumbs up on the acting, I'd rate the overall movie itself as average to marginal. Cliche subject matter, boring dialogue, etc. It was a little slow for my taste, although it did have some funny moments. I was really looking forward to this film but came away disappointed. Has anyone else seen it?

The coming attractions look really funny and I definitely plan on seeing it.
Tommy Lee Jones and Meryl Streep are both wondeful actors. Hope to see better reviews but I will see it either way. Thanks for posting.

Default Savages just had me as a moviegoer yesterday afternoon.

Thanks for the review. With romantic-comedies, I usually wait for the DVD.

With respect to another movie playing here in the Villages; in a completely empty theater yesterday afternoon, I was the only one watching Savages at the Old Mill Playhouse. I am not a big fan of Oliver Stone; this one was OK for a Stone flick except for the ending which was a mess.

I saw it yesterday and laughed and laughed and laughed. To me, it was so true to how most married couples are after 30+ years of marriage and it was so true as to how some men are.

Thanks for the review as it's helpful to get opinions from regular folks, not movie critics.

Saw it today -- it was more poignant and thought provoking than I was expecting...how do people keep the spark going for 25, 35, 45 years of marriage? When the nest is empty and the baby chicks are gone, what keeps a marriage together -- I guess one of my sisters and her husband will find out very soon when their youngest leaves for college in 2 weeks.

Two thumbs up! Excellent performances by Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones.

The showings at the Rialto of Hope Springs seem to be sold out, at least, one of them was yesterday afternoon. I came to see Total Recall anyway.

I saw Hope Springs yesterday. The theater was packed; no more available seats. Audience clearly enjoying the show with frequent outbursts of laughter in response to all too familiar situations. Superbly nuanced performances by Streep and Jones.

Hubby and I saw this movie on Friday and couldn't have enjoyed it more! I agree it was VERY thought provoking, we went out to dinner after and had the best discussion ever! I would HIGHLY recommend it and I would HIGHLY recommend taking your spouse with you if possible.
