I think I am going to love that movie thanks for the hint.

Spent three years in the UK and totally loved it. In fact we got married in the UK and had our first two (of seven) kids born there.

Default I am sure some Americans sound just as funny to some of the English...

...as some of the English sound to some Americans. It is just sometimes difficult to understand the speech of characters in some English movies unless you have the subtitles on and take various guesses at what their different words for various things mean. A little test of British English words -- http://iteslj.org/cw/1/ck-brit1.html

Good Crossword! I only had a problem with 1 and 4 down.

Now back to accents If you ever come to England and visit the midlands, i.e. Birmingham, you will never, be able to understand a word that is said!! I have been to this city many times, and still do not understand the accent. We are told that their version of English is the original version!!

I was born and raised in the north on England, but migrated south to London aged 19 or so, different parts of London have different acents especially south (sarf) and west, the posh parts

Also we do get a lot of American TV shows and films (movies) so I think our understanding of American accents and sayings is a little better.
Honestly most on our English TV dramas are rubbish.
