I was actually a little disappointed with the movie. I saw the stage production in Vegas, and loved it. It was a cute and happy show. However, the movie came off as being corny. I think part of the problem for me was that they cast the adults too old. The mother and 3 fathers should have been in their early to mid forties. And they should have cast the adult roles with some fabulous singers. It just didn't work for me. (and I love musicals!)

My wfe and her three freinds are going to see this musical at the Bob Carr in September. Supposed to be very good.

Neat bumper sticker. Went like this: "It's God's job to judge terrorists. Our job is to arrange the meeting!"

Saw Momma Mia with my sisters of the Eagle Lake Hattitudes, all 22 of us loved it. It was reminiscent of the movie musicals i loved. Also i think Meryl Streep deserves an Oscar nomination!

My wife loved the movie.

I think the movie trashed the ABBA work, disrespected it.

I love Meryl, she can do no wrong, but in this movie she was having fun. I would rather see her acting.

I myself sing better than Pierce Brosnan, and I am embarrassed to sing in public because I sing like somebody dropped an anvil. Pierce should be ashamed of himself to subject us to such misery as listening to him.

Tony! Some critics seem to agree with you. http://www.nydailynews.com/entertain..._some_gre.html

 Meryl Streep had such a good time in this movie. Her sense of physicality at her advanced (?) age of 59 was inspiring. It didn't matter that the singing and dancing were not the best I've ever seen. As a whole, it was just plain joyful. The older actors reminded me of folks I have seen having fun in TV. When it comes out on DVD I'll buy it for sure to watch again.

Believe me that after hearing Brosnan sing you won't have the least bit of trouble getting it out of your head.

Maybe that is not right. He is so bad that he ruins the good stuff.

Mamma Mia and Pierce Brosnan's singing voice interview linked below. At least, you are sure that Brosnan's singing voice was not dubbed in as in other movies with big name stars. http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/name...e-brosnan-bond

I loved the movie even if the men could not sing. I even bought the CD! I know the critics are bashing it bad, but it was so upbeat and happy. Every now and then we need something light and cheerful and this did it for me.

I'm not bashing older actors, I'm just saying that the roles called for someone younger. The character that Meryl Streep played was supposed to be young and foolish when she got pregnant and her parents disowned her. That is why she was on the Greek Island. She now has a 21 year old daughter. That should mean the character is early forties. Not 59! And her lovers would have been mid to late 40's.

I probably wouldn't have minded them casting the older actors as much if they could really sing and dance. It just didn't cut it for me!

If you plan on buying the soundtrack, do yourself a favor and buy the Broadway soundtrack instead. You'll be lots happier with the sound.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought Streep did an excellent job. Pierce Brosnan doesn't need to be able to sing. He's so gorgeous - who cares.

It was light and funny and enjoyable.
