They're all good but not sure what market they will target. I would think Skylar has the best chance of becoming a star in her field (Country) than the others. I don't see a well rounded pop star (like Clarkson) or any rock stars (like Daughtry) or R&B stars (like Fantasia). I guess Sanchez has a shot at pop but what type of album will Josh make? Will Phillips be on the same level as a John Mayer or Dave Matthews? Hollie? Pop I guess.

American Idol has completely gone downhill this year. Why is there a need for the three judges?? They don't offer good critiques of the performance. JLo will do so sometimes. Steven Tyler is on another planet with some of the comments he made. On the last show, he said that Joshua was one of the top 2 Idols ever. OK, so which one we toss out of the top 2, Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood???

Skylar was voted out yesterday, probably the most marketable talent of this season. She will have a more sucessful career than any of the 4 that remain.

Jessica Sanchez could do very well in the Pacific Rim market. There was a previous Asian-American AI contender who did extremely well in the Asian music industry. Jasmine Trias - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Judges remarks are causing me to lose interest in AI. Simon Cowell made the show.....he may have been caustic but he was honest about the talent.
Ellen, Kara, JLo, Stephen....none were very interesting...Ellen was a huge mistake.

I actually liked AI because of Simon Cowell. The judges are OK this Season but then again I usually just fastforward through most of the judges as well as Ryan Seacrest's bantering.

Default AI

One of the most important aspects of the judges is to pick the talent.

They did a wonderful job this year and this year's group is one of the strongest ever. Time will tell how their careers work out.

The judges remarks as well as when the last few contestants are voted off in my book is immaterial... I just enjoy the show and

Good point. Why Ryan Seacrest enjoys the popularity he does is way beyond me. I think he is a dufus.

O.K. I don't care what anyone else says. Joshua singing "It's a Man's World" was head and shoulders above everyone else, including the James Brown original.
Ooops!...now I have to modify my opinion a bit, because 16 year old Jessica has got an amazing set of pipes! What a voice! If this contest has anything to do with talent it should come down to Joshua and Jessica.

I agree with what you've said, but you can't discount the beautiful song "Volcano" by Philip Philips. It wasn't a power song like Jessica Sanchez' or Joshua Ledet's, but still so very good.

I think Hollie Cavanaugh has come to the end of the road this week, and we know who the Top 3 are.

I watched American Idol through the first season. I decided it was a show for deluded teenagers. Most of them know no music earlier than the 1970s. Not for me. No interest.

They have tried to dump her several times this year (other than last week because she was exceptional). If she screwed up, fine, but she did a beautiful job so who needs J-Lo's worthless ramblings (who thinks she's an expert about singing?) and Randy's scripted "Yo Dude she's in it to win it" opinion. Let America decide without crushing a 16 year old on national television after gushing over the others! Josh and Jessica to the finals I hope.

This year's AI was probably one of the better seasons with the singing talent, no doubt, BUT I just cannot see a successful career with any of the 4 contestants. Song choice seems to knock the contestants out. The judges do absolutly nothing as far as their comments to help these singers out.

Jessica sings songs that do not appeal to the younger crowd, so are the teens going to buy her albums?? Joshua sings well until he starts SCREAMING the lyrics. Phillip is in his own world. He has great moments but those are very few. He tanks on most of the songs he sings. Hollie sings well but does not seem to have the connection with the audience.

The most marketable contestant was Skylar in my opinion. Her country/rock style would be the most marketable after her stint with AI.

Success will be determined how well they do after AI. Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry are doing very well, the rest seemed to have fallen off the face of the earth.

J, I understand what you are saying but talent is ageless. I like a lot of 'old' stuff but I also love to discover new artists. There is music that I don't particularly like but I appreciate the ability of the singer, that's what they are looking for. I don't care if it's Frank Sinatra, Patsy Cline, the Beatles or Eminem, talent is talent.
