The Top 20 Best Anti-Love Songs in Country Music - Page 2

Maybe, I will start writing one of these. I have not written a song for posting on TOTV for a few years and I am still in a mood.

My two favorites are "How Can I Miss You If You Won't Go Away" and "Get Your Tongue Out Of My Mouth, I'm Kissing You Goodbye".

Then there's ...

Got along without ya before I met ya, gonna git along without ya now. Gonna find someone who's twice as cute 'cause I didn't like you anyhow...

Default A rewrite of Jackson Browne's Lawyers in Love.

"Lawyers In Love"

I can't keep up with what's been going brown
Now that my love is wearing another's wedding gown
Among the Villagers in their hospital scrubs
She may soon be cleaning some of their urine tubs
While ignoring the strangled cries of lawyers in love

God sends his thanks to America, the beautiful
The Villagers dine at six o'clock and there we are, the dutiful waiters and waitresses
Pitying us lawyers in love while longing for Happier Days
Waiting for the Blooming Onion to arrive
To the mating calls of lawyers in love

Last night I watched the news from TOTV and on channel 640 AM
The mental patients escaped while we weren't watching them, like mental patients will
Now we've got all these empty rooms, we will need more brooms
And I hear the 65th Village will be open soon
As vacation land for lawyers in love

Now as I cry for a flower that has gone brown
And how she is wearing another man's wedding gown
When all is said and done among the Villagers in the hospital scrubs
she will be again among the urine tubs
But trying again to make yet another doctor or lawyer fall in love.

This would be the music to use. Too bad I do not sing. Actually it would be pretty bad.

Hands down winner is Nilsson's "You're Breaking My Heart".

Do not Google this song if you are likely to be offended by explicit lyrics.

I like this one.
One Of Us Cannot Be Wrong

By Leonard Cohen

I lit a thin green candle
To make you jealous of me
But the room just filled up with mosquitoes
They heard that my body was free.
Then I took the dust
Of a long sleepless night
And I put it in your little shoe
And then I confess
That I tortured the dress
That you wore for the world to look through.

I showed my heart to a doctor
He said I’d just have to quit
Then he wrote himself a prescription
Your name was mentioned in it.
Then he locked himself
In a library shelf
With the details of our honeymoon
And I hear from the nurse
That he’s gotten much worse
And his practice is all in a ruin.

I heard of a saint who had loved you
I studied all night in his school
He taught that the duty of lovers
Is to tarnish the Golden rule.
And just when I was sure
That his teachings were pure
He drowned himself in the pool
His body is gone
But back here on the lawn
His spirit continues to drool.

An Eskimo showed me a movie
He’d recently taken of you
The poor man could hardly stop shivering
His lips and his fingers were blue.
I suppose that he froze
When the wind took your clothes
And I guess he just never got warm
But you stand there so nice
In your blizzard of ice
Oh please let me come into your storm.

My favorite anti-love song is "Love bites" by Def Leppard. They didn't sing too many slow songs and this one is great!

That's quite good. Thanks for posting that.
