Moving out and only the Good die Young remind me of vacation for some reason.

You're My Home and Captain Jack are the only songs that don't make me think "Ugh, not another Billy Droll song"

For me its just the opposite. I had an uncle that just returned from Vietnam Nam as a junkie, I think he was booted due to drug use. He loved Captain Jack and a few Cat Stevens songs, maybe he thought they ok'd the drug use? In any case, he emptied his head with a 12 gangue in my grandmas house where we were living at the time. So there are a couple of songs from that time period he played nonstop that I don't care for. My grand parents always thought someone helped him do it because of poor drug deals/debts but I think he was just a loon.

Maybe?

Sorry about your uncle, but what a way to bring down a fun thread...

Yep. Great song.

My granddaughter tells of a time in high school, when a teacher used the lyrics of this song to teach recent history. She got a good number right but had no clue about "children of thalidomide". When I told her about thalidomide babies of the 50s and 60s she was sort of shocked. Unknown history to her. Part of the lives of most Villagers.

There's also an old b side song that's very popular with teens/early teens - Vienna. I heard one of them playing it a few weeks ago and I was shocked that they knew it, let alone that its made a big comeback.

I agree. Captain Jack is da man!

One thing about going to a Billy Joel concert, you are going to hear the music you want to hear. Although earlier this year he released his first new song in nearly 20 years.
