Default Hang On Sloopy

Saw Radio Flyer at LSL last night and one of the songs they played was Hang On Sloopy which was a fun tune from 1965. The original video is pre MTV but has an early MTV feel to it.

Good fun song. We do it in Vinyl Recall.

I like videos where they show the band playing even though this, as most are, is the band lip synching.

Xylophone and tympani? I don't hear them in that song. Maybe they were just stick in there to make the video cool.

Sorry I missed it.

But I do think maybe I saw Sloopy dancing at the square one night. That 1965 girl in the video has to be somewhere. Right?

Do you know about the Ohio State Marching Band and Sloopy? Probably had a few Buckeyes at LSL last night.

This video makes more sense as far as the instruments played:

The original song was actually recorded first by The Vibrations and was called "My Girl Sloopy".

The girl is supposedly Liz Derringer, Rick Derringer's (who was the lead singer) wife. Here is a recent pic:

Liz became a successful music journalist.
