“You Can’t Stop the Beat”

The Villages Pops Chorus kicks off the fifth year of concerts with a wonderful variety of songs from the 40’s through the 80’s. Selections from Broadway include the big opening number “You Can’t Stop the Beat” from Hairspray, and the classic “Never Never Land” from Peter Pan. The rock years are represented by an Everly Brothers medley along with Chicago’s “Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is”, and Billy Joel’s hauntingly beautiful ballad “And So It Goes”. Selections from the Great American Song book include “Come Rain or Come Shine”, and “Graduation Day” in the style of the Four Freshman. Accompanied by an 11-piece band, the 145-voice Pops Chorus promises another great concert filled with your favorite songs, fun, and as always, a few surprises. There are two shows at 3 PM and 6 PM on Monday April 9, at North Lake Presbyterian Church. Tickets are $15 each and are available at all Villages Box Office locations, on line, and will be available at the door if not sold out. The Villages Pops Chorus is a 501c3 charitable organization, and beneficiaries from this show will be Sozo Kids and All One Family, Inc.
