Resistance to change? Maybe for some but not for a lot of us. I’m looking for the best, not looking to save a dollar, that’s the difference. If iptv is better than dish or better than YTtv, then I’m going with iptv. Most people haven’t even heard of iptv, the pros and cons and the legal issues with it.
Buffering? Never, but that’s why I have 1Gb with my ISP and even better, my wifi is as fast as my internet.
Most people getting a streaming service have a bare bones spotty wifi for the “other” rooms whereas dish you can have MoCa network for the “other” secondary devices, which in most homes, will have a better signal than using wifi. My dish hopper is plugged in to a mesh router providing 1G bandwidth plus using MoCa to the secondary joeys. If we go streaming, every tv in the house with its Apple TV 4K streaming box, are hooked up to a local mesh router providing 1G Ethernet speeds. Buffering: never.
During the last 2 years, when there is a heavy rain storm, dish I’ll stream that channel you are watching automatically. I’m not sure how many channels provide this functionality but the 1’s we watch they have this capability.
There is nothing wrong with Dish the way you are set up and if you don't mind paying the extra for that type of system, great. But just wanted to let everyone know you can use Moca to get internet everywhere in your home without the Dish equipment. The Moca adapters are available on Amazon and i've installed them in many homes here in the Villages when needed. The only thing with Dish everyone needs to know is if you get new equipment from them, you could be locked-in for a certain period of time.

We switched to Youtube TV.

Purchased enough Firestick Max 4k "sticks" (one-time purchase, not lease) for each TV. NOTE: There are many "sticks" that will do this and I'm NOT intending to start a debate here about the best one....

There is a fairly steep learning curve moving from the Dish user interface to Youtube, but after a few weeks it will get much easier to navigate.

With Youtube TV you don't have any "hard drive" space restrictions like you have on Dish. If you fill up the Dish DVR drive, then you have to delete something. Youtube stores things you watch for 9 months without space limits.

We are saving $700 per year after the switch.

Good luck with your decision.
I've had YouTube TV for well over a year and I can't complain. It's much better than paying $300 a month to Comcast for the same thing. If you have a smart TV you don't need a TV box. Just hook it up to WiFI or hard wire it to your internet.

$53 a month savings.

Why wouldn’t you change??

And YouTube has unlimited DVR. I record a lot of shows!
