Default "Saturday Night Live" 50th Season. Starts this September 28, 2024.

Not many shows have reached their 50th Season. Congratulations.

I do find these new Seasons a lot less entertaining than the first years.

SNL has been a favorite of ours for a very long time. That being said, in my opinion the show has become unwatchable over the last few years. I thought that opinion was just me being an old curmudgeon who is no longer within the target market of the shows desired viewership demographic. However, many younger people I speak to also feel the show is no longer entertaining, so maybe it’s not just me. Unfortunately, political correctness and good comedy don’t match up very well.

The news segment is still often very funny. And some of the musicians are quite good. Jelly Roll should be fun tonight.

This show has been so bad for at least 10 years. Obnoxiously one sided politically.

It certainly has a New York City kind of approach to things. The cast is very diverse like the City.

Only in skin color and gender. Otherwise, no intellectual diversity whatsoever. The thing that actually matters and makes "diversity our strength".

Not sure what you mean. Facts are facts no matter what spin is put on them.

Depends on who’s fact checking and how trustworthy the facts are if all facts was brought out.. sometime some facts get left out or misinterpreted… now all that has to happen few repeat and now its fact so got to be true

So totally agree here. The good old nights at SNL have been gone for a decade IMO. Same for every Award show. Oh, the same for Network news and Network magazine shows like 60 Min, CBS Sunday, etc.
Our choice and we are pleased by it.

I may take a peek if Sandler, Chappelle or Spade were guest hosting.....but I haven’t watched the current SNL product in years. Specifically, when they sacked Norm MacDonald from the Weekend Update. Just because he was incessantly (and rightfully) trolling OJ. His boss, NBC exec Don Ohlmeyer....was a big OJ rumpswab and wasn’t having it anymore!

Even their non-political SNL stuff is not very funny anymore. Maybe all the good writers have died off, just like some of the earlier stars (Belushi, Hartman, Farley, Wilder, etc).

SNL jumped the shark many years ago.

Jelly Roll was really good last night. Liked all the nothings.
