Jet blue was on our list if flights worked for us. Sadly Southwest has changed hubs so direct flights to fav airports are becoming a pain.

Blow out tires seem to become a thing..any retired pilots have their 2 cents thoughts.

We were with Spirit, but at least they kept things pretty much on an even keel until the bottom fell out sadly. Not much [B]non-stop service from Detroit anymore unless you have a bucket of money.

Default Jetblue

Sooner you realize you're just a number you will understand how every company operates.

Did they give you money for a hotel room or lunch money?

We paid for these tickets 9 months ago and had assigned seats. We did not find this out until we attempted to board the plane and they said "sorry" to didn't check in soon enough. They rebooked us but we sat in JFK for 15 hours waiting for our flight to MCO. Once we got on the plane the lights went out and we sat on the plane for another 1 hour with no air conditioning and only emergency lighting. Never again will I fly Jet Blue again.

Unfortunately, that has all changed over the last year or so and seems to be progressively getting worse. Flights have been changed, cancelled, seating assignments have been mysteriously lost only to learn only up charge seats are available, their website is frequently down, customer service has become abysmal, a-la-cart pricing has become the norm, and flight options have become severely limited. We get it, the whole airline industry is under financial pressure with inflation, especially jet fuel prices. But unfortunately, it’s becoming very apparent that JetBlue is in severe financial distress, which is severely effecting their ability to run a functional operation. We already have a couple trips booked with them and are crossing both our fingers and toes that we don’t run into a disaster.

This thread is out there to warn fellow Villagers, so their travel plans can be made eyes wide open. We are going to cancel our JetBlue credit card and crawl back to Southwest with our tail between our legs. Traveling is stressful enough without having to worry about the incompetence of a struggling airline business.
I am sorry to hear this- not my experience at all- we have a Jet Blue credit card as well and use them exclusively for air travel and will do so internationally to Milan in a few weeks. What you describe has been my experience with Southwest- the routes I need (BDL-MCO) are limited and much higher price than JB. I keep the SW Chase Visa in case I need them but all of our domestic flying is with JB.

Did you use online check in 24 hours before on the Jet Blue app? In your case, as others have said your flight was overbooked. Did you wait at the gate and hear the overbooking annoucements?

They did me wrong once, and I've never forgiven them. I was flying from NY to Orlando. I was anxious to get home and booked the more expensive early flight over the hour later cheaper flight. The other passengers and I were waiting at the airport, and all of a sudden they announced the flight canceled. No explanation. Then we sat there for hours, I watched the cheaper flight that I wished I had booked, load up and take off. I even wrote them, saying we should all get a refund for the difference, and that it was bad form not to at least explain. No response. I've never flown them again, now I fly Frontier, they have always been fine.

For what it is worth, if you fly regularly you will encounter issues. You mentioned Frontier, they did the same thing to me. Cancelled a flight and then couldn't rebook me for 2 days. I got a refund and booked a flight on Southwest that very day. The Frontier agent on the phone was not helpful. I believe, in general, the major airlines are better at dealing with interruptions than the discount airlines.

Southwest is better because they have more flights and more options for you. I took a flight from MCO to Long Beach, CA and got stuck on the MCO runway for 2 hours because of thunderstorms. Because of that we missed our connecting flight in Dallas and had to stay in Dallas overnight. We stayed in a hotel. Southwest automatically scheduled us for a morning flight the next day from Dallas to Long Beach. What I noticed in MCO, It took at least 30 minutes for the plane to de-plane and another 30 mins for my flight to load. Because of that we got delayed due to weather. We had to talk to the right friendly Southwest person in Dallas to get the ball rolling to get some reimbursement going. They took care of us. JetBlue used to be good. Southwest is good because they have many ways to get from point a to point b. That being said I should have flown from MCO-LAX nonstop instead of flying from MCO-LGB with a connecting flight. Never anticipated getting stuck on a runway for 2 hours. Only Southwest and Delta for me.

I have roundtrip booked with Southwest in November MCO-BDL. Leaves on a Friday at 11:10am returns on a Monday at 4:25pm. Total price now is $305 BASIC. $395 CHOICE. I only book choice because if I cancel they give you a travel credit. I booked a while ago, so my fare is quite a bit less than that. I like Bradley Airport because it is easy to get to. My other choice is HPN White Plains which is a tiny airport with horrible traffic jams on the Merritt Parkway in Connecticut.

All these issues with planes are blown out of proportion. I have taken many flights and have never seen anyone escorted from a plane
due to a disturbance they have caused. Sat on a runway for 2 hours in Orlando due to weather. Did not hear or see any person going nutty.

Their financial stability is questionable. Switch to Delta or Southwest and get their credit card.

Most of us, perhaps I should say WE don't fly often enough to draw a valid a fair view.
Days of old where you would get dressed up to fly are really OLD DAYS. No matter the airline far more likely to find a kid crying, kicking your seat or some dude taking his shoes and socks off. New York to Florida Jet Blue was a good option. Information is 13 years old.

I am a loyal JetBlue flyer and go from Orlando to Westchester or Newark twice a year. For an Upcoming flight I noticed that the fee for my checked bag has increased to $100. A sign of the times I suppose. I have always been treated as a valued customer, not cattle, so I will continue to fly JetBlue and pray my flights are on time. They usually are very punctual. Fly early before the flights stack up
