Default In MAINE now

Traveling through Maine now. Did Rockland, now in Boothbay Harbor and next Bar Harbor. Enjoying this beautiful state it is very humid (like Florida) right now and fog very heavy now but we hear will start clearing up tomorrow. Looking forward to some lobster dinners. Fish so far fabulous!

Glad to read that you are enjoying your travels! It's a great time to be cruising that area of Maine! Be sure to take the ride thru Acadia Nat'l Park - pick up the self-guided auto tour CD and enjoy the ride. This website explains a lot about the tour Acadia Auto Tour - Virtual Acadia National Park Tours

Hope you'll return for a trip thru the foliage some Fall.

Did Acadia today and loved it. Maine must be beautiful in the fall. Do have question though. Had lobster today and was delicious. I did think it was a little tough though. Told waiter I'm from Fla and have only experienced lobster tail there and the Maine lobster seemed a bit tougher. He said that is normal for Maine lobster and I'm sure he is right?? Is he correct?

Nah! Not unless the kitchen is busy and it gets away from whoever is supposed to watch the pot if it was being boiled. I always order and cook mine steamed and no more than 10 mins per pound to pound and a quarter.

Now getting Maine lobster in FL is not something I have done. What I have seen served in most restaurants and grocers is a South African Rock Lobster/lobster tail. Not only is that tough - after Maine and NJ lobsters - they have no taste!

Glad you enjoyed Acadia!
