I just spent 30 minutes researching and can't find any new TSA rules. TSA does not set "carry on size" limits. Those are set by the airlines, based on their needs and the size of the luggage storage areas on-board. TSA is supposedly getting stricter, but I can't find a peep about carry-on luggage size, as it relates to TSA. |

(to be clear, I agree with you, I just find it amazing that others haven't grasped that reality)

Flight attendants are not required to put passenger bags in overhead storage.

This is the deal-breaker for the original post.

That would reduce a good portion of the handicap traffic by eliminating the pretenders incentive.

No, I agree with you that seeing passengers coming on with "well over the limit" is galling, but so is getting to your seat and finding your overhead bin already full of flight-attendants' baggage. You then have to use someone else's bin, who then has to use...well, you get the picture.

I did a little searching and flight attendants don't normally serve on the flight back to their original departure point, their next flight could be to a different destination. There might be more flights before they return to their home base. This would require them to pack extra uniforms, regular clothes for their layovers, personal items like under garments, (clean and dirty), cosmetics, medications, etc. Have you ever tried living out of a suitcase for days and days?
