Default Escorted tours of Europe

Does anyone know of a tour company that does not provide daily dinners? We prefer to dine at our leisure and to enjoy the local fare. All the tours I looked at have dinner on multiple nights . I know I can skip the meal but would rather not pay for something I'm not using
Thanx

Most organized group tour companies I have seen include at least a couple of dinners.

Where are you intending to go in Europe?

I assume you are describing a bus tour, is that correct?

I doubt you will find one that has no dinners included.

Does the trip have to be an organized and guided bus tour?

There are cruises that hit that area.

Several tour companies have started offering a "Build Your Vacation" service. Everything is purchased ala carte and bundled in the transaction. Travel between destinations is done independently by train or airplane. The travelers can buy guided day or half day bus tours of the city and other local sites.

An example is Gate1Travel the "Vacation Builder" option. But, I have not used them before. I noticed the option when I was shopping different companies for a tour.

Default Check out Rick Steves

His company does different kinds of tours, but I think the website says you need to be prepared to drag your bags up to 2nd or 3rd floors of some of the small hotels they use, and the tours include lots of walking, I believe.

Just in case you decide to do it on your own, here's a tip. In Venice it is best to stay at a hotel along the grand canal. If not you will be dragging your luggage through the narrow streets and up and down the steps of the many little bridges in the city of Venice to get to your hotel. The further away from the canal you get the more lugging you will have. If you only have 1 piece of luggage each its not too bad but we have been there twice and found staying on the Grand Canal a pleasure. We stayed at the Palazzo Sant Angelo and absolutely loved it. If you are arriving by train you can get off the train walk a few steps and take a water taxi to your hotel or to the nearest taxi stop to your hotel if it is more inland. We don't care for escorted trips either because we like to make our own schedule. If you research everything you can make all the reservations yourself. We have done this throughout Europe. With the European transportation system traveling is a breeze. Enjoy your trip !
