We made this recipe and liked it enough to be willing to try it again:
2 to 3 lbs Beef Short Ribs 1 Tbl Hoisin sauce 1 tsp Sesame Oil 2 Tbl Soy Sauce 1 tsp Five spice powder or Allspice 2 TBL Chopped garlic 3 TBL Honey 3 TBL Ketchup 1 TBL Ginger Some recipes suggest that the ribs be par boiled before roasting. If so, do that first. Then, when the meat is cool: Mix all of the above thoroughly. Put Ribs in a zip-lock bag and add the ingredients. Let marinate for as little as 1-2 hours and as much as overnight in the refrigerator. Line a baking sheet with foil (to reduce clean-up). Bake at 375 for about ½ hour. Then reduce heat to 300 and cook for an additional 45 minutes to an hour or more based upon the thickness of the ribs. (If the ribs seem to be getting too dark, you can tent some foil over the pan.) While they are cooking, baste frequently with the left over marinade. Check for doneness. Serve with choice of A-1 or I prefer the sweetness of Peter Luger’s steak sauce, or Duck sauce Enjoy.

Yes we thought it was very tasty. It did seem like they were a little overdone and so next time I will cover with foil while roasting and maybe uncover for 10-15 minutes only.
Now that we have all the ingredients (you mean you don't have Hoisin sauce hanging around your pantry?) we will definitely try again. I would love to use pork ribs but DH doesn't eat pork so it will have to be beef.
