There are possibly hundreds of different types of curry. It's a originated in India of course, but it's also very popular in Thailand, Japan and many other Asian countries. It's also very popular in Great Britain owing to the days when India was a British colony.

Just substitute the "p" for a "b" and I think you have it. Yum!

I have a huge pot of vegetable soup cooking on the pellet stove. The whole house smells yummy, I'll make some cornbread muffins, and tackle the snow drifts knowing I have a warm cup of soup waiting for me when I come into the house.

You saute some chicken with onions, garlic and peppers. then you add some chicken broth and coconut milk to which you add some curry powder along with a few other spices and jalapenos. It simmers from a while and then I toos in some warmed up green beans.

Hi Gracie
Would you post the recipe for your ham, cabbage casserole? I have half a picnic ham that I would like to do something different with.
Thanks
J

I read a bunch of recipes and kind of summarized them.

Basically all say to wilt the cabbage first. I added a can of cream of mushroom soup, cut up ham, some nutmeg and pepper, there is salt in the soup and salt in the ham, and a little milk and about a cup of grated cheddar.

I am going to bake it for tonight, so wait until we taste it to see if you should make it too..

Those two are so unpicky, but I am picky. I will tell you the truth. It was good the last time but I don't remember exactly how I made it.

This was a few nights ago. eggplant and chicken parmigiana. I prefer it with veal, but we had chicken in the freezer and I didn't feel like going out.

Haven't had it in years, my Scottish neighbor made it, the only thing I remember is an Oxy (??) cube and chop meat.
Basically what your looking for is Shepherds Pie, or a basic meat pie with a crust. You can find meat pies like the one you had on line or there is a Brit Food Booth at the Marion Market. Also just google British Food and you can get many, many items, including meat pies.

By the way the person who recommended Heinz Beans or Heinz baked Beans. The Heinz Baked Beans available in the British Section of ethic food aisle are different then what you are used to, and probably the one that the person is suggesting.
