I buy almost all my cookware through Amazon. Free shipping with Prime membership. I've bought lots of Calphalon, often on sale. The occasional AllClad, Lodge cast iron. Amazon's prices always lower than anyone elses and great selection For low-priced odd items I go to TJMaax. I bought a nice covered roasting pan at Walmart.
I'm all over the place but mostly Amazon

Find the best stainless all clad on sale you can find. The one mentioned from Wal-Mart seems to be a good bargain but have never used it.
For fry pans nothing is better then the plain old cast iron skillets available at any hardware store. ACE has them for $10 to $20 depending on size. They are cheap and when properly seasoned and used work as well as any non stick pan available. They also go from stove top to oven with no issues. They hold the heat very even across the entire cooking surface. I have several sizes and hardly ever cook anything without them. Perfect 2 inch thick steaks or fillets are a very hot cast iron skillet with no oil seared for 5 minutes, 5 minutes in a 400 degree oven and removed for 5 minutes to rest. Always cooked perfect and rare. Change the oven time to 7 minutes for medium rare and 9 minutes for medium.

Thanks for the kind words Gracie. I to learn from you so many times. Did the Bush's baked beans you recommended and they were so good. Added Italian hot sausage browned in the cast iron skillet before baking.
Here is another favorite using a cast iron skillet. Go to foodnetwork.com and search under Rachael Ray for the Scallops Bonn Femme recipe. Sear them in the cast iron skillet and cover with the mushroom sauce and finish baking in the oven. Serve over rice or noodles. After that dish you will absolutely love your cast iron skillet.

I have Revere Wear Stainless copper bottom cookware that I have had for 25 years and it still looks great. Goes in the dishwasher and comes out sparkling clean. I didn't like the stainless skillet and use caphalon for my frying pans.

I find Tramontina acceptable although some of their cheap non stick versions (Paris line I think) is really junk.
Marshalls or Tj Maxx is a great place to pick up pieces of cookware. I hadn't thought about Walmart though... |

I have had All-Clad and Calphalon for years and both are great. And yes LeCreuset makes a mean pot roast and very good Pot Au Feu. I don't think you can go wrong with either of them. Good luck shopping.

I went to the Calphalon outlet store in Orlando and purchased individual pieces rather than sets. I have just what I want. There's also a Le Crueset outlet (at least there was) right near the Calphalon store. My Calphalon was made in Toledo, OH (but many of their pieces are made in China). I have 2 skillets made by All Clad - wonderful, too. Made in PA. Sometimes Macy's has a sale on the individual pieces.

I also have the Emeril set and I really like it. I do find that you cannot cook eggs or fish in them as they stick. I bought a non stick pan for eggs and fish.
