Default 2 questions

Does anyone know what is going to happen to the old elementary, middle and high schools? Are they going to have two campuses or are they going to consolidate all into the new campus and shut the old schools down?
Does anyone know what is going to happen to the old Bexley bridge? Will it be torn down or will they convert it into a golf cart bridge?
Thank you for any insights.

Don’t know the answers to your questions, but I did hear some really good news about the new high school. The new school is going to have their own pool, so the high school swim team will no longer be using the Laurel Manor sports pool, creating more much needed lap swimming opportunities for amenity fee paying residents: )

I heard that the time slots used by the school were going to be used for beginners scuba diving lessons for seniors as there is nowhere else safe for those classes and it wouldn't inconvenience anyone as those times are already blocked.

The new schools are in addition to the existing Villages schools. The Bexley bridge, as I understand it, will be torn down as the new bridge will have lanes for both cars and carts.

Not to burst the bubble of swimmers that use Laurel Manor, I can't imagine that they are going to bus students down to the new pool--too much time out of the day to make that round trip- and I doubt they are rescheduling scuba classes that far in advance. I'm reticent to leak the word, but most of the new sports pools down here (below 44) don't have many scheduled activities. Plenty of open time for scuba!

All of the high school students and activities will be at the new campus. The current high school will have a new, as yet unannounced, purpose. Since the students and the pool will all be at the new location, no bussing is needed. So the Laurel Manor pool will be available.

The current elementary and middle schools will continue as they are, with space for additional students at the new campus.

As a lap swimmer that’s a bummer. On the other hand, as a scuba diver also, I think it’s great they are having classes to teach new divers the wonderful sport. And I understand why they need to use the Laurel Manor pool. As far as I know, Mulberry and Laurel Manor are the only pools with a deep end, all the other sports pools are very shallow. I guess deeper pools aren’t good for water walkers, water volleyball, and other non lap swimming activities.

Default Don’t worry about excessive building

The owners of the villages are creating traffic issues on the roads, ( many of which can’t be enlarged)excessive numbers of people in stores , restaurants basically everywhere. Then handing over the increased taxes, fees and extra money needed for unchecked expansion to the fixed income residents of the villages. Sounds like what happened in overcrowded cities where a lot of us FLED from. Thanks Morse family.

“They’re” not causing the traffic problem… WE are… by moving to The Villages at such a prodigious pace and in such huge numbers.

When did you move in and add to the traffic, congestion and increase costs to those on "fixed incomes"?

I own my house in The Villages. I don't understand why you think that I am creating traffic issues.
