That's the problem. People purchased homes in the Villages EXPECTING to be protected from CRIME. And the driving habits and speed manipulation of golf cars has BECOME so commonplace that the Villages SYSTEM has FAILED to protect residents from this CRIME.

That's why solitary confinement in prisons is the ultimate punishment for even the most hardened prisoner. We are social animals. That is why we react badly when our RIGHTS are squashed. In this case it is the right to SAFELY travel in a golf cart at a reasonable, established speed and NOT to be TAILGATED by the excessive speeders.

As I have said, we need more Police. Golf car speeding may seem insignificant to some people, but it opens the door to more LAWLESSNESS. If nothing else it exposes a problem that is hard to solve. But, NOT TRYING to solve it is even worse !!!!!!

If I can, and when I feel it's safe to, I'll get over there. And I'll be sure to signal ahead of time so he knows not to aggressively pass me on the right the instant he can squeeze between my right rear fender and the front left fender of the car I've just overtaken. |

The idea is to prevent the impatient jerk by having the proper Police presence so that it FORCES the jerk to have patience. if there are too many impatient jerks operating in TVLand, it just proves my point that there is NOT enough Police presence. Besides Police, there are lower cost methods like Red Light Cameras and neighborhood cameras. And I know that some fool lawyers are against that. But those lawyers can afford private security and even their own bodyguards.

Actually, I see about 2 per hour going over 30 MPH on my residential street. You can even hear them because they are very much LOUDER than the 20 MPH ones. And it is both men and women drivers, so no bias there......equal rights to speeding. It has become so commonplace that it is under the radar of people's awareness.

25 MPH is by definition reckless and illegal. See why we need it WELL defined and supported by Police ticketing. Yamaha says anything over 15 MPH is more than golf cars are designed for. Why do we pick something like 25 MPH and PRETEND that it is OK.
