Applicable fees Title fee Plate fee Initial registration fee, if applicable Registration fee (varies by weight of vehicle) So it does seem like the fees (plural) and paperwork is the primary difference between an illegal golf cart and a legal low-speed vehicle.

The modifications are single piece windshield, wipers, headlights, and mirrors. Absolutely nothing mechanical/structural is different that an ordinary cart. The argument that carts are unsafe at 25 has gone down the tubes, flaming.

You know someone who is below average that has done it. That's just a guess.

It’s obvious from all the posts on this subject that golf carters don’t obey any traffic laws either. Don’t kid yourself, you are not in a special law abiding group if you drive a golf cart over 20mph.

Newer carts are better (in most cases) than older ones. Better built over all, imo. Newer engines, gas and electric, fuel injection vs card. Battery improvement. There are plenty of older, less reliable carts, not well maintained, still on the road. Mine has the two piece windshield and no wipers or seat belts. Mine serves to visit a neighbor or local exec course. No long trips or shopping.

I have adjusted my governor to go 23-24 on my Yamaha. I’m part time and only just completed this. My plan is to only use it that speed if having to pass someone going very slow. You often need a bit more oomph to pass quickly and safely. But I’m not sure I’ll keep it like that. It depends on how difficult it will be to keep the pedal off the floor to stay at 20. It may be a lot easier to drive keeping the pedal floored and going 20.
Oh and I was told the cops were on Megisson a couple days ago pulling over cars and carts. I think this was near Newell. |

In one of the posts here a person (one person) who lived here about 9 years and they KNOW about 10 golf cart drivers DEAD from their involvement in a crash. And that is just ONE person. I wonder if anyone knows the TOTAL GOLF CAR DRIVERS that die in the whole Villages area on average per year. Golf cars have a HIGH center of gravity, a bad suspension, bad brakes, (and loud mufflers). When you think about that.......golf cars are DESIGNED to KILL their passengers. Yamaha is basically telling their customers to use your golf car on the golf course and don't exceed 15 MPH on a road.
