Default Yes to Indoor Pools

The request was for those who are interested in an indoor pool to please mention that in the survey.

I see this as similar to asking for a Costco or another Starbuck's. If enough people are willing to support an indoor pool someone will provide one.

Am I on the right track swimdawg?
Exactly!

Now you're talking. Before we buy we are taking our GPS on the test drive and doing a few runs for the fastest cart.

The developer, who else? The same developer who should be building more bowling alleys and more softball fields.

Downeaster, as golf2140 stated, an indoor pool membership was tried and there was not enough interest. And Angie, to answer your question, no it was not 1965 but approx 2009 or 2010. As Barefoot stated, there's already a perfectly good indoor pool here in TV, but no one wanted to pay to use it. Swimdawg, maybe you should investigate with the owners of this pool what it would take to make them re-evaluate their position and re-open the pool.

I may be dreaming but I seem to remember reading something about plans for another bowling alley in the Brownwood area, so that wish could be a possibility. The Morse bridge, not so much. I think you have to go to Sumter County for that one.

What no one has mentioned is that there are only six more executive golf courses planned to be built. Do you think that's gonna be enough?

Good question, Posh. I am not smart enough to conduct anything. You might call me a "gandy dancer".

Frankly, I don't think anyone will provide an indoor pool. It would mean a big investment therefore fees for use would be prohibitive. It was tried once and had to be abandoned as mentioned earlier in this thread. I would think it would need to be golf cart accessible and that probably involves the Developer.

I remember! I also remember the hue and cry it raised (to no avail).

That's the free indoor pool at Stonecrest - cost is included in the monthly amenities of $105.

What pool was this? I was at Sea Breeze yesterday a little before 7:00 AM and the water was great and was even better as I walked my laps and others swam.

My one request.....for any of you who might think it is a good idea....to please suggest we have indoor pools in The Villages.

There is ever-increasing awareness of skin cancers and the necessity to avoid excesssive sun exposure. Indoor pools would surely alleviate that problem.

And, of course, indoor pools would be wonderful when the air is too cold to swim in outdoor pools (which I personally experienced on many occasions).

Please fill out your surveys and please think about adding something about how nice it would be to have indoor pools in TV. please
And how many indoor pools would they need for 100,000 people.
That is not a very good request.

They might be privately owned now, but they were originally built and run by the developer. How about more softball fields?
