We all live here and we all have different interests. I don't think anyone wants to lose their favorite aminities but some of you certainly don't mind if it's not your sport! I for one am voting for the indoor pool and if I wasn't then I wouldn't comment!

Just like I'm not commenting on the indoor skating rink! I mean, REALLY??
VG, you jumped to conclusions. The skating rink for the hockey team is to be outside to accomodate all the fans

I did get a little carried away. I think you get my point. Or am I too subtle?

Would an outdoor hot tub with strong pulsating jets do the trick for you? We don't own one but I surely do love the benefits of the hot tubs on the ships when we cruise. I try not to miss a day to go in the hot tub for that lovely message on my back. The water is hotter than 93 degrees, generally hot tub water is set at 102 degrees.

Maybe comparing it to having the weight-lifting and other machines available only outside in the sun and not in air conditioned rooms would get the point across as to what fitness swimmers deal with in the blazing sun....even at 4-7:00 p.m. in spring, summer and fall it's intense. Skin cancer is a real threat.

CoffeeBean, we too love the hot tubs on the cruise ships and it's a daily visiting area for us. We have sailed out of Bayonne quite a few times on Explorer of the Seas and have had a great time everytime.

[QUOTE=asianthree;464013]I would love to have a indoor pool but, ONE indoor pool for how many people in Jan/Feb/Mar. It would be like fitting 50 people in a two ring blow up pool. You think saving chairs is bad, put in ONE indoor pool and see how that goes. Yep it would be a better move to put in a gym like lifetime fitness with classes, indoor pool, and machines. $49.00 a month. i second this motion. that would help crowd control, by having those who want it , pay of it.

My one request.....for any of you who might think it is a good idea....to please suggest we have indoor pools in The Villages.

There is ever-increasing awareness of skin cancers and the necessity to avoid excesssive sun exposure. Indoor pools would surely alleviate that problem.

And, of course, indoor pools would be wonderful when the air is too cold to swim in outdoor pools (which I personally experienced on many occasions).

Please fill out your surveys and please think about adding something about how nice it would be to have indoor pools in TV. please

Just a little reminder.....voting started this morning.

Indoor pools in TV would be the frosting on the cake!

we have one indoor pool for every outdoor pool here in the sun cities. when we first moved here, a lot of people used the outdoor pools but now with all the information about skin cancer, the indoor pools are used more than the outdoor pools here.

you have a great community there. we have visited and we loved it. however, you should have indoor pools - for health reasons. skin cancer is increasing.

Another vote for an indoor pool. Having had four skin cancers, I am very careful about sun exposure so I don't use the pools here much. When we first visited the Villages, I couldn't believe there wasn't an indoor pool (or at the very least a few of the pools should have sun shades over them).

Thank you SunCity and Pat&Bob. It is so much about skin cancer and preventing it.

My beloved godmother died of metastatic melanoma - skin cancer - which is one of the main reasons I'm on a mission to get indoor pools in The Villages.

Questions #20 and #136 are where it would be good to put comments about the need for indoor pools.

And thank you to those who agree that TV is a wonderful place to live...but we do need INDOOR POOLS.

I think the building which houses the pool is owned by "The Villages Operating Company".

The Sharon Morse Building is owned by "The Villages Regional Medical".

(This information is from the Sumter County Property Appraiser's website.)

Moffitt Cancer Center has a big operation in Tampa and I seriously doubt that TV any financial interest in what goes on there. TV is affiliated with Moffitt, which is great for us - but just because you sell Cadillacs at your dealership doesn't mean you own General Motors.

Once you put in ONE indoor pool for lap swimming and exercise classes, the normal pool users would want one or two for their use also. Don't they get skin cancer also?

And depending on where the indoor pool is built, the people on the other side or further away will want one in their area also.

Do you begin to see how this will grow?

I think it will become cost prohibitive in no time.

Default Yes to Indoor Pools

People are more educated as to skin cancer these days. Perhaps years ago when TV was first built, residents were not so aware. SunCity indicated that more people used the outdoor pools years ago....but now they are using their indoor pools more than outside pools.

There is a whole new area being built....south of 466A. Now is the time for the Developer to become aware that we would like indoor pools in TV.

While Planet fitness does not have a pool ,its still a great place and only 10 bucks a month

Gosh Swimdawg. There are 73 posts on this thread. See how people listen to you and care about you?

I see an indoor pool in my crystal ball.
