I moved here 3 years ago and have had 3 different insurance companies for my homeowners.
Shop around as I am amazed at the difference in pricing from the insurance companies. I usually get 8-10 quotes and then decide based on the price and the financial stability of the insurer.

Can anyone recommend AAA agent they’re happy with at Spanish Springs office? I need an agent to try and explain this.
I too have AAA and my "agent experience" mirrors yours. It seems that the AAA office only has an agent for "new business" and not for servicing. I was "stuck" with the Member Service Center too this year but they were helpful for what I needed. I suspect there won't be much "explanation". Only option that I see is check you are not over-insured. Based on your dollar amount, I'm going to start looking around but its hard to find a company that writes policies in FL these days.

Default HONEYQUOTE.com for insurance quotes

Edit: I just saw this conversation going:
Homeowner’s Insurance in TV
After seeing this message, I know my AAA insurance will be coming due in July. I did a very very quick internet search and found HONEYQUOTE.com that gave me several insurance companys' quotes. Online quotes ranged from $943 to $1500 a year selecting "enhance coverage" with $2500 deductible and with 2% hurricane deductible. At least this web site provides a list of alternatives to start with. One of the companies listed was Cabrillo Coastal which used to be the insurance company TV used. I had them when I first moved here and they threatened to drop me due to age of my roof - I switched to AAA before they did. Good Hunting!

I’ve used the same State Farm agent for 40 years. When I moved here two years ago, my premium is only $1500 a year.

I have USAA in a designer Putnam at 2050 sq ft. My policy renews this month at $1100, up about $100 from last yr. Some caveats, I have been with USAA for a long time, about 40 years so they do reward loyalty, at least so far for me. My house is only 6 years old so no roof issue. Also I have a very high hurricane deductible at 5% which is about $16,000. I am fine with taking this amount of liability, I just need insurance if the whole house gets destroyed.

The cost of replacement also needs to be considered as construction prices have increased tremendously over the past 5 years and that is part of the premium increase. My best advice is to shop around if you get something that sounds crazy. There are lower cost alternatives out there.

I never said that Progressive didn't want to lower their exposure.

I simply said that being a part time resident had ZERO effect on our premiums...

Our emergency response time is based on our alarm system.

I have a friend in the Palisades area. Last year her insurance company notified her they could no longer cover her in that area. She found another insurer, and two weeks later they notified her that they would not cover her either. She couldn’t find another insurer. She lost her uninsured home in the fires….and I’m sure others are in the same situation.
Tragic.

Did get free roof? Then, that explains it. AAA just brokers, get some estimates from other insurance agencies. They’re NOT loyal to you so why be loyal to them. With the Florida feasco with insurance we will probably be paying that as minimum? If you can find insurers in future?

No free roof. Kin wants $2900. Still too high.

Easy to explain, all your neighbors got "free roofs".

Get some more, I live in about same size CYV home and vehicle insurance just over $2100. But, who knows when I have to renew? When I got booted from aaa for no reason other than my roof was older after I paid for replacement I went elsewhere. I got 5 estimates, none of name brands insurance was less than 3500 then and that didn’t include vehicle. IMO name brands want out of Florida and California so the raise rates so high or deny insurance. IMO that should be against law, all states or none.
