I am not defending this guy first off. What he did is disgusting and if he wants to carry on with this kind of behavior, he should do it in the privacy of his own house and not out in the open.

Just have to share an experience that happened at the Pennecamp Pool with my daughter and her husband. We had a family joke that now that she turned 30, she was old enough to go to the Pennecamp Pool. As they entered the pool area, all of a sudden all eyes were on them. She was wearing a very conservative 2-piece swim suit and her husband board shorts. Nothing provocative or in bad taste.

They got into the pool and the women circled around her and said that finally there was "new meat" to look at because the men at the pool had "No Butts". My son-in-law felt very uncomfortable cause they were looking at him provocatively and smiling. He swam away and was going underwater a lot to not hear the conversations anymore. Then conversations from the "ladies" turned to topics involving underwater "condom races" and other inappropriate sexual comments. After a short while, my daughter and son-in-law left and came back to tell us. My daughter stated that the men at the pool never made her feel uncomfortable, either with comments or prolonged looks, etc.

Needless to say, when they visit here, my son-in-law refuses to the Pennecamp pool anymore. They go to a nearby family pool i.e. Allamanda.

A different experience happened to us when we went to City Fire in LSL for some lunch. My son-in-law, the gentleman that he is, ran up and opened the door for all five of us to enter. He held the door open to three ladies that were following us into City Fire. One of the ladies asked " Is there a cover charge today?" just being friendly, he said "No, It was Ladies Night" just engaging in a friendly conversation, well one of the "ladies" said "Well here's my ID", and pulled her blouse down to show off her bra.

I read the story with some ladies going to the Pennecamp Pool area being uncomfortable getting their mail or walking their dog, and obviously I am sympathetic towards them feeling that way and everyone should feel safe going anywhere here in The Villages, obviously, still be aware of their immediate surroundings, but these two stories keep popping in my head of what happened to my daughter and husband at the Pennecamp Pool.

OK, how about a drink named for this one? Put a Vienna Sausage in a glass of vodka and call it the Weenie Wagger?

We all indeed have our opinions. I asked my wife what she thought and she said: "I feel very safe here in The Villages much more than most places and some places that we have lived in the past." So the edict is in The Villages is a substantially safer than most places. I feel better already

After we closed on our house in Buttonwood, the sellers introduced us to our new neighbor who happened to be at Sumter Landing dancing. The first words out of his mouth? a lewd "joke". The sellers were embarrassed to death. So were we.

we are just as different as our high school class, our neighborhood back home, the people in our church or club and the people we worked with.

We are a spectrum of people, and some are easy to get along with and some are not.

Some have a moral compass and some do not. Some are happy and some are not. Some are financially secure and some are not. Some are healthy and some are not. We all have different value systems and some put eating healthily at the top and some put looking good at the top and some put their homes at the top and some put their church at the top and some put politics at the top, etc. Etc. Etc.

We have chosen to live here but the rule followers are having to deal with the rule breakers, the democrats are having to deal with the republicans and the not so rich are having to deal with the really rich and the young-old are having to deal with the old-old.

One thing we have in common is that there are far fewer years ahead of us than there are behind us and we need to suck the juice out of every day and enjoy this life because none of us know for sure who will go missing tomorrow.

Most of us have found out after the fifty five years that is advertised as our entry point that illness, death, heartbreak, disappointments, huge wonderful surprises and happy events that we have lived through do tend to make us more aware of what is good and what is useful and what is important.

We have 100,000 odd, um, people to pick as friends. I wish you as much luck as i have had. Being surrounded and supported by people who enjoy you and support you at this time in our lives is...priceless.

If you are lonely or sad or shy, my coffee pot is on and all you need do is message me.

Be prepared that i honestly, thoroughly and sincerely love this place.

Upon reading the first posting on this thread, I assumed this was a recent event!

Reading The Daily Sun today, I see that the man reportedly exposed himself at a pool in April and September of 2013. He reportedly did it twice more in July, 2014.

The record from New Jersey was in 1990 (24 years ago).

He was banned from Villages pools in August, 2014 but without pool employees checking ID cards, still used them.

This is NOT news.

A few bad apples, a few nasties, but nothing compared to most cities with 100,000 residents.
Sorry if I sound like Suzy Sunshine, but if we just focus on the positive, there is no safer or more beautiful place to spend our retirement years.

When I'm in the pool, I don't wear my glasses. I go to the Pennecamp pool, so if the poor guy was wagging it in front of me, I sure didn't see it, LOL. Bet that gave him a complex.

Exactly. (That's what I meant to say, Barefoot. I hope it didn't come across wrong.)

PB, it didn't come across wrong. I totally agree with your comment. It's naive to think that a huge city will be totally free of problems. I agree, there will always be a few bad apples with big worms, no pun intended.

I have been to the Pennecamp pool on many occasions and this guy is ALWAYS by the front gate and is ALWAYS looking at any younger woman that enter the pool. I also agree that there is a group of women that are extremly inapropriate. I have chosen to go to another pool as well. Dont condemn me because I prefer to be in a more comfortable environment. I know MANY residents of Pennecamp that have done the same...

The Daily Sun article stated that this dude was banned from using the recreation pools after the initial exposing and discovering his past offense. Well who made sure he didn't show up at the rec pools? Was his photo released at the time of his 1st offence of exposure? Makes me very uncomfortable to know that this creep could have been near me at the pool. Too bad his mug shot wasn't posted at all the pools.
