87-year old questions

Hi everyone. Thanks for all your responses. I probably should mention a few things:

-she was born in the U.S., so residency/medical isn't the problem. I was just looking for a Doctor for her.

-the main reason for the caregiver is meals and company. She can take care of herself, but would love to have someone cook for her and do some cleaning. The going for walks part may have misrepresented her state of health (she loves to go for walks with people).

-my sister has bought a house a couple of miles away. She will only be here about half the time for the next year or two (Michigan the rest of the time).

Thanks to those who have offered advice, especially to "marinabelle" and her story of her 93-year old father. My Mom was happy when she read about how well he was getting along.

The fact that Ms Betty is a US citizen will certainly make the medical coverage easier. I hope you get some good doctor recommendation.

Your mom or your sister will be here part time? I hope it is your mom, because I wouldn't want to be alone here without established contacts and people who cared. You can't buy that kind of loving support needed as we grow older.
