Default Addresses in The Villages? Correct use?

Even though I believe this is a street in the village of Lynnhaven, I can not find Livingston Loop, Lynnhaven, The Villages Fl 32162 on online maps.

But the street itself is found when I leave out Lynnhaven and the map doesn't show the village name.

When mail is sent, are the separate villages within The Villages, not used as part of the address? Just the street: such as 1000 Livingston Loop, The Villages FL 32162?

Is there anywere online that shows the layout of The Villages with the separate villages shown to help someone going there to have a better idea of how it is all laid out?

Hope someone can straighten me out

Try this link and it will show you the different villages south of 466. http://www.districtgov.org/slcdd/dis...es%20South.pdf

You may have to cut and paste the link into your browser URL line. The map in in PDF format and you will need to click on the enlarge button in Adobe to see more detail.

If you use this link, http://www.districtgov.org/slcdd/dis...es%20North.pdf you will get everything north of 466.

One thing about these two links is that they do not have the street names. For that you can always copy the address into Map Quest (I always use Lady Lake as the city) and get an idea as to the general location of the address. Then go to the PDF file and you can find the Village the street is located in.

You are correct that Livingston Loop is in the Village of Lynnhaven and when you on the Map Quest site you will want to click on Aerial Map and you will get an aerial view of the address. You can even zoom in to get a closer look.

On note of caution and that is the newer areas with newer streets may not be in the latest Map Quest database. TV builds streets faster that Map Quest updates their database.

Hope that helps.

For the U.S. Mail, your village name is not used as part of the address. Your mailing address is only 1234 Streetname Lane, The Villages, FL 32162 (or 32159). You will find that many service companies may ask which village you live in as that does exactly what you wanted to do - narrow down the search - but it is not part of your "official" address.

Hawkwind is absolutely correct. For that reason, I also use two other map sites:
Bing http://www.bing.com/maps/
Google http://maps.google.com/

They each obtain their maps from different sources, so they are updated with new information a different times. Depending on where you are looking, one may have more detail than the other.

Also, they each have unique special features. For example Bing has Bird's Eye View, and Google has Street View.

Thanks champion6. I've been experimenting with Google but I can't get Bing to work with either firefox or safari. Maybe it doesn't like Mac?

Just checked back here so I'm late answering. Wanted to let you know I appreciate your reply!

I am a Mac user and just used Bing with no problems.
