I think one's choice of a screen name reveals something about them. It's either neutral, or funny (or meant to be funny), or displays an attitude. Just saying.

When I first started posting on here I was bothered by what I viewed as censorship. Now I don't care.

Every once in a while I have to back away because I feel like my ethers get clogged with negativity.

I got a ticket on here. And I was really hurt by it. But I know that this busy and interesting place needs someone keeping some semblance of order.

And Patty. Where are your ethers? Are they in your nose?

Although I think TV is a great place, I dare you to find even one post of mine that supports the developer. You are off track for sure.

Anyone who calls me a fan of the developer would have to be illiterate given my past comments about the Morses. I am, however, a fan of how this site is run.

For many years I owned a parenting site. The moderators and I were even more zealous about what was said and the tone implied. If we thought something was meant to hurt another, the post was pulled. If it happened a second time, that person's posts were all moderated and would not be posted if we felt it was hurtful. (The party was never banned but was definitely watched carefully.)

Personally, I wish there would once again be a political forum, either a sub-forum here or a new site entirely. A lot of what has been posted recently is in fact political. I think the Admins have been very gracious in allowing these postings given the times we live in.

And I'm on the side of calling crummy crummy. Not to be disrespectful but because I'm lazy and rarely type anyone's full name (including my own). Sometimes we pick names without thought to how they will look or sound shortened. This is one of those cases, I think.

Now, can we all pick up our toys, share one and play nice?

While the biggest part of me really doesn't care all that much, I do sometimes wonder why when 2 (or more) Villagers get into a spat, the Admins feel it necessary to delete their posts. Disagreements are going to happen wherever there are thinking people so it seems a bit strange that people can't get into a verbal tussle without "mommy" or "daddy" as the case may be, getting involved.

I also find it a bit strange that no discussion is allowed on politics but there are constant references to this church or that church looking for new people to join their congregations. If someone asks, then by all means their questions on churches should be answered. But, I don't think it's appropriate to advertise same on a public forum.

I am a sage, as you can see from the profile above. As a sage I feel uniquely qualified to comment and my thoughts should be taken very seriously. I have had a few posts deleted by the admin or a moderator, and have generally agreed with their decision, or at least understood the rationale. Theirs is a thankless job, and policing a board this size takes a lot of time and a ton of discretion. I have been a regular contributor on a couple other boards and their policies and methods are virtually the same, if not more stringent. I am not a mod, nor do I care to be, I am not the admin, or related to him/her, and I am not a cheerleader for the developer. I think this board is extremely well run, as is the community, and I would suggest that if it is not for you there are lots of message boards and hundreds of other retirement venues from which to choose. It's really their candy store. They set and enforce the rules.
I've had no disagreements with admin. A few comments but nothing to get all excited about.
Admin may not live in TV, but there are Moderators who are longtime TOTVers. They do a good job of keeping the forum entertaining and informative for the majority of the forum members. A forum is not a democracy. Violate the rules and they do not have to give you a second chance.

There are posters on here who always have a chip on the shoulder approach to each post. I don't know whether it is old age grouchy-itis or lifelong bully-itis, but at any rate it can be downright irritating.

This forum is very well moderated.

My thoughts exactly. I don't understand if you don't like the rules why do you play and then complain about it? I'm a firm believer in, take what you like and leave the rest behind. There is a lot of good information on this site, and some things Im not interested in, those things i leave behind. Life is too short to get worked up about comments.

In answer to the original question - yes I have a mark on my permanent record.
