I dont understand..."it's not a community pond"...if they did live in TV, then if course it's a community pond...who else would it belong to.....not the homes that surround it.

It probably not accessible from common area. Which means you can’t cross private property or developers golf course to access it.

Yes, absolutely, you should not cross on someone else's property, I agree.
The golfers choose to get up early, drag their clubs, wear their cleats and parade all over the course...daily. why are people so upset if a person walks a paved path 12 hrs later???? (let's remove the dog from this equation). Its truly doing the very same thing,, only on a different schedule....and we don't make divets. Lol. We all equally pay.

It is trespassing, pure and simple and it is very annoying to watch people doing things they are not allowed to do. However, I have RARELY heard this complaint on this forum over all the years that I have followed it.

People are drawn to this area for a number of reasons, not the least is the incredible opportunities to play golf or to live close to the green spaces that are lovely to see. Most serious golfers are serious rule followers and are ladies and gentlemen who follow the rules. Golf is an ethical game played against one's own self. Experienced golfers look down on people who don't
replace divots or rake the sand traps. You know what you're dealing with when someone walks in your putting line. Most Golfers follow the rules and most golfers like the rules followed.

People are NOT allowed to walk their dogs on the golf course. People are not allowed to walk their kids on the golf course. If they do it they are wrong.

We used to have a group of older women that we called the "Posse" and they addressed things of this nature. I think they petered out. Sad.

I was a member and I also wonder about unusual and not frequent things like this that are pointed out by new posters.

Sometimes I wonder. Sometimes I sit and wonder.
Thanks for your clear and respectful response. Since I’m new to The Villages and typically a rule follower, I’ve often wondered about walking on the golf cart path after dark. Although it’s been stated that it’s private property, there are no sidewalks where I live, but we do back up to a golf course. Is the lack of sidewalks in our area a cost saving measure for the developers or is there another reason for no sidewalks that I’ve missed?

Default Dogs on the course

I live on the HH Palms and when there is no golf I have played fetch with my dog in the rough. I can't believe that is a monumental problem. It's very dangerous to do anything in front by the race track. (road). I certainly wouldn't let him go on the green or poop on the course.. It it did happen I would clean it up immediately. (They are usually unscheduled.) If you want to see a green full of crap put a bunch of geese on it. Unbelievable!!
So come on, let my puppy have a little fun and me too! Life is a very short project so lighten up! It's not good for your heart to be grumpy. I've seen golfers do more damage to greens than a dog could do in a week.
He's my buddy!

I’d like to walk the golf course myself, but I know it isn’t permitted. I guess it will continue until something gets broke or a green gets trashed by a dog.

There really isn’t anything you can do because I’ve tried. I called the villages community security about it but they just tell me it’s not their jurisdiction.
Oh well
It’ll be great when some golfer steps in dog poop while playing.

I'll 2nd RosemarySoSo in totality. I'm a snowbird, I own my house, I pay property tax and monthly amenity fees. I pay these fees 12 months/year and am only in residence 4 months/year. That means my other 8 payments subsidize the full-timers, my payments keep your fees low. Additionally, I don't golf. All that is by my choice. And I'm good with it. I also bring my dog with me when I am in residence. He's walked 2 miles 2x/day, those walks keep my 11 year-old boy moving. My dog is known, by name, by so many residents along our way, they come out of their houses to give him treats. I have been invited into their homes and made new friends ONLY because of my dog. And yes, I sometimes allow him to lead me onto a totally vacant golf course, he particularly likes the sand traps, must feel good on his paws. I mean he really enjoys it and he harms nothing. I know what the rakes are for, and you'll always find two bags in my pocket. This snowbird has never allowed my dog to damage anything, ALWAYS cleans up after him and NEVER disposes of the contents in other than my trash. It slays me that you think every snowbird holds less respect for the beauty of TV, or doesn't understand the need to preserve that beauty. I've invested my money in TV, just as you have. And I aim to get it back in full one day, just as you do. So please stop blaming ALL snowbirds for EVERYTHING you don't like about TV.

I honestly didn't know it was against the "rules" to walk on the golf course after dark unless you're golfing (which is kinda ridiculous, isn't it?). I never imagined I wasn't allowed to use something I pay for. And I can't reason why it would bother someone else. But hey, I've been around here long enough to recognize someone is always bothered by something. You know what bothers me? The way you don't mind your grandkids! I've seen grandparents allow their grandkids to be loud, so freaking disruptive, and disrespectful to their grandparent and others. I've seen grandparents allow their grandchildren to ride their bikes in such a manner that others are at risk of injury. I've seen grandparents allow their less than driving age kids drive their golf carts on public roadways. I don't object to grandkids, I have 11 of the dears. It's the permissive grandparent with no respect for those around them that make me nuts. So there ya go. Please get off the Snowbird backs and mind your own. Rant over.

As far as I see, the comments about snowbirds, the bad behavior and lousy park, the speeding of golf carts, etc. seems to exist here when the snowbirds are not here. Your assumptions about character and behavior are poorly placed and, I can only assume, poorly placed in all aspects of your life.
You're right next it will be white crosses and political flags. Oh wait. Nevermind

The real issue is......what will you do now that you know you are not allowed on the golf courses unless playing?

Wow, just wow. What is the harm of someone walking their dog on the golf course, after dark? The Villages is full of the most whiny complainers on the planet. Guess what else walks on the golf course, Coyotes, Bobcats, Alligators, Sandhill Cranes, 'possums, raccoons and a myriad of others. The guy's dog may have pooped after dinner, and if it does poop the owner is more like to pick it up than any of the other animals I mentioned above. You people just look for things to complain about, the guy and his dog aren't harming you......
