But at his age he sounds a LOT better on an album.

I don't get paying to see some of these really old performers. Paul Anka, Neil Diamond and a bunch of other. We saw Billy Joel in MSG a few years back and while the music is great his voice is shot. They can barely carry a tune anymore and that includes Paul Mc. My parents paid big bucks to see Sinatra just before he died. They said it was sad how bad he sounded. I'd pay for a meet and greet for McCartney or to hear him do a 2hr Q&A with his piano and guitar, but his singing (concert) career is over. The same goes for all these tribute bands. Nothing like the original which you can hear anytime. I guess we all want to relive our youth.

That being said, did you watch GET BACK? It's on Disney Plus. Amazing documentary. It's worth a 1 month subscription or download it if you know how.

$25 including a box of popcorn and a drink. They are well beyond their prime as are most of these groups on their "last legs" tours. The Stones may be one of the rare exceptions. Lots of videos online from the good old days when they actually sounded good and performed well.

Simple math, the cost of booking a performer is the same regardless of venue size. When a venue only sits about 1,000 people, ticket prices will be high for the bigger name performers. Cover bands are much cheaper to book. At our age, the amount of bands we grew up enjoying are rapidly shrinking, so see em while you can. We really enjoyed seeing George Thorogood at the Sharon about 3 years ago, hope they can get more performers like that.

The problem is I do not think you can say Beach Boys anymore.

Thinking only one member is left and he probably cannot do the high notes any more.

They have not changed their name to Beach Boy.
