Default Almost Got in Accident at Canal St. and Old Mill Run.

I was at a four way stop on Canal Street and Old Mill Run. It seemed like it was my turn but a middle aged (55 or so) white guy in a red convertible thought otherwise and pulled out the same time I did. He finally stopped before I would have had to slam on the breaks. Why is everyone in such a hurry today?? I did get my way so to speak and crossed on my turn. There was also a worker's truck crossing on the same street I was on but going the other way, so I had thought it was safe to make my move while the truck was going through the intersection. But, this man was just going to force his way through the intersection. He did yield but after scaring me quite a bit.

All this to get to Hallmark.

Looks like it wasn't a good road day for either of us---see my post under "SUV out to kill" thread. Glad you're OK

Well I did get the Hallmark cards for my Aunt (eats a lot of lobster on Cape Cod), sister-in-law (DC-Maryland area lobster) and a Sympathy/Get Well card for a friend from Doggie Doo Run Run. Who Barefoot probably knows too (another lobster connection).

The man was heading north.

It does seem a little weird to point out he is white. Was he also not Hispanic? How did he "seem arrogant"?

Arrogant in how he pulled out in front of me even though it seemed it was my turn and a large truck was already crossing on the other side. He was white and not Hispanic. Clint Eastwood is white IMHO. Edward James Olmos is Hispanic. Emilio Estevez - Rotten Tomatoes Elimio Estevez would be white even though he has a Hispanic name. I am not sure about Jennifer Lopez. She could be either. These are just labels for identification purposes and are rather fluid in different societies and groups.

I described him in case you are at an intersection with a red convertible with a middle aged white dude driving as you may want to yield the right of way even if you believe you have it because this man seems to be in a rush to get places or at least was yesterday. I do not write down license places and the like nor post them.

I see this all the time!

I find that at 4 way stops you have to stop to be in line and of course the guy on your right has the right way IF you meet and stop at the same time. I find it Amazing people will stop at the entrance of roundabout when no one is coming, but will coast through 4 way stop. I was told when about 17 by local sheriff that I have to stop behind the stop sign and not pull out into the street and stop. He pointed this out with a ticket. I'll not bore you with the other rules he explained to me?

As far as what race was in the car. I see morons no matter what race or mixed race they are sometimes, meaning morons have no boundaries

I did pull out because the truck was crossing at the same time I was and thought that the man in the red convertible would wait until the intersection was clear. He did not.

I know morons in a lot of "races".

I think you have something. I wonder if Sally Struthers is available.

This is why I feel round abouts are safer than 4 way stops here in TV.
