Yes you are seeing things...but I don't think they are birds...

Perhaps balloons or flags...they seemed to be tied down....floating around in the same area.....unless someone got mad at the birds and tied them up....just kidding...I honestly think they are balloons or flags.

On second look I realized they were balloons or something tied down and hovering.
The tree lightings on the Squares looked like a good time was had by all.
Sorry we missed it.
