Yep good idea there. Morse is normally 35 south of 466 and I normally don't see golf carts running on there. Once in a blue moon. We don't own one ourselves but I tend to give golf carts extra space when they have to merge in so they don't feel they're going to get cut off. I see construction vehicles in our area run up on them and pass turning cars in the golf cart lanes. I literally cringe everytime thinking what if they didn't see a golf cart slide up by them?? Oh and in my previous post I meant as long as you don't impede traffic. Can't type to save my life sometimes. Your cart should be used on the streets only if you can get up to the speed limit and normally residential roads are 10 or 15 so thats a non issue. Some people don't get that if your under the speed limit and causing a traffic issue you can be ticketed for impeding. But your post sounded like the incidents were on residential for so non issue. Those folks were in the wrong no question and you guys just need to be very careful. Lot of idiots from all over the country here Some drive right, majority don't and then you add circles into the mix....good luck.

Sorry folks, until there are posted speed requirements the sign is "speed limit" not "speed requirement" or even "speed suggestion". Fact: LSVs have every right to be on a road that is 35 MPH or less as long as they are registered and insured like a car, truck or motorcycle is. It is a LIMIT on ones speed, not a requirement. I think when we see the same thing over and over again like a "Speed LIMIT" sign it tends to take on a different meaning.

With that being said, I break the law every day on the highway by driving in excess of 80 MPH and I do get irritated by slower drivers if they are in the fast lane. I just go around them and be on my way. If you can go around a slower vehicle on the highway, why not a golf cart or LSV in The Villages? And please don't point out that some roads in The Villages aren't 2 lanes. The original post in this thread pointed out that they do not drive their LSV on main roads without 2 lanes.

If you are in a car and a golf cart or LSV is slowing you down, just take the time to go around them safely. We are all supposed to be mature adults. There is no need for vigilantism or proving to someone else that you don't like a certain law. If you feel that strongly about the law, then go to the state legislature and try to get the law changed. FYI the law on LSVs or NEVs are across the country and are legislated on a state by state basis. Good luck.

well, I respect the law and your right to drive the steet legal,
however, when you're 10 mph slower and the cars are bigger - and there's plenty of idiots out there, well I have to wonder why you don't just say on the cart paths where it's safe?

It's just a matter of time to you get plunked, no offense.

maybe because gem carts go faster than golf carts, are street legal and you can't get everywhere you have to go by cart path?

I live in Buttonwood. Using a stop watch it took me 10 minutes and 45 seconds to get to Tojays intersection from my driveway without traffic. Another time, I was behind one of the slow 14 MPH rentals and it took me 2 and 1/2 minutes longer. Now if someone can explain how 2 1/2 minutes can effect ones schedule, please do because I don't get it. Chill out people. We're retired. We got all day and losing 2 1/2 minutes in your schedule will give you plenty of time to do all you intend to do today.

Face it whether we are talking about the Florida Turnpike or Canal Street here some people will always take a burn to slow drivers. To allow a vehicle that can only travel 5-10 mph under the posted speed limit is asking for trouble specially since I explained in aprevious post we continue to get more crowded .

Then we have the other side I was on Auburndale returning from Glenview when a woman cut me off and kept doing so. apparently she felt I was going too fast. i was really upset with her but she took off so stopping only briefly at the stop sin so that I could reach her. there is no excuse for that type of behavior. My cart did go about 27-28 mph but I never exceeded 19-20mph when on the cartpaths. I felt that the speed was not safe for anyone and not good for the cart so I had my repair guy make adjustments. It hits 20mph and many carts pass me ut I am happier for it.

Because we paid a lot more for the additional safety features of an LSV and $500 more per year in insurance for the priviledge to do so.

I agree in part with the George Carlin type point of view about with some driving faster and some drive slower than you. But why is everyone in such a hurry, when people come to TV because they have retired from the "Rat Race"? Why in the world would you want to participate in the "Rat Race" in your retirement?

To speak to your point and many others here about the top speed of the LSVs and the "just asking for trouble" some seem to feel. I would agree to that point if TV was like any other place in the USA. But it is not. Everyone knows that LSVs are part of the lifestyle here. When you see a LSV on Buena Vista, are you really surprised it is there? Did it really catch you of guard? Just go around it and be happy you live in such a nice place.

Not really, just that with the influx of more people there will be more of all the attitudes, whomever they belong to.

I'm not sure if this is a new thought, but maybe the speed limit should be reduced to the slowest possible vehicle that may use that particular road. Just wondering....
