Huh, OK, your point? Was just stating the weirdness of the laws not trying to change them. Just to be clear: NOT THAT I WOULD WANT TO DO EITHER , but you **CAN** ride a bike on 466A, or 301 or 44 or Morse or BV or 466 or hundreds of others but you **CAN'T** ride a non-LSV golf cart on any of them. Just a "stranger than science" fact, not a complaint.

RT 301 and 44 is a State Road going through Wildwood. I believe Warm Springs is a county road. One is SUPPOSED to be street legal to drive on or across it. However there is a STATE REGULATION that says if the STATE road SPLITS your actual development, you can cross at a light in a GC.

I think this sentence is pretty self explanatory, though the other section clarifies it more.
Public city road shall mean any thoroughfare maintained by the city that is commonly used for vehicular traffic.

Sounds like something that worked. Surprised that scrap yards(collectively) did not question this law. In other words if one shop was buying the cables and there were other 9 other shops that did this, all 10 would have to pay for the stolen cable.

There is punishment but thefts like this are not investigated by law enforcement like they should be investigated. They are more interested in catching speeders on Morse Blvd.

I am new to TV and am curious if anyone is using security/alarm systems on their golf carts? Seems like an inexpensive car/motorcycle motion sensor alarm would be a major deterrent to stop thefts via drive off, push onto trailer or even removing golf clubs? Anyone?

I cannot speak for the effectiveness of alarms, but I did help a few neighbors install alarms, including one that was 2 way, the remote would indicate if the alarm was activated (1/2 mile range if I recall correctly).

How many times has anyone heard a car alarm blaring and just ignored it as it happened so often? And of course, on a golf cart they can simply pull the wire off the alarm horn.

In "the old days" (back in "the 80's ) I used to have an alarm on my new car that would YELL (with a voice) if anyone got too close and heaven forbid they actually touched it. Alarms are so 20th century.

So, did you call anybody? Did you see them go to a pool? Did you alert the rec center?

Default Random Key

Put a “random key” ignition on your Yamahas, the key provided with most carts is a generic type manufactured ignition key that fits all the Yamaha golf carts. A random ignition is super easy to install (Less than 5 minutes). They are about $50.

And likely just as easy to remove/bypass (or just roll up onto a truck). I pushed some guys GC into the middle of a parking lot a couple of years ago without needing a key when he parked directly behind me at a Walmart. Simply released the brake and rolled it practically to the front door of Walmart who refused to try and page them (which wouldn't have helped anyway).
