That's a very good term for it! I always thought it was just lack of punctuation education. It is indeed harder to read, and there are times when lack of punctuation has rendered more than one possibility to the meaning of a sentence. But oh well.

I don't mind the use of incorrect words ("Violators will be towed and find $50") and a dangling modifier here and there. But anyone can read back over what they've just written and throw a few periods and commas in. Otherwise, "Eats, Shoots and Leaves."

I guess as we are all getting older, we may or may not have some issues. In my mid sixties I just don't feel the need to correct anyone for their punctuation or grammar. I can figure it out. I've lived a lot of years and I can decipher what's typed. I sure wouldn't want to embarrass anyone. But maybe that's just me.

I've got a lot years too. But I still think we can all read over what we've written and make it understandable. I remember how to do it from junior high school. I didn't think biker1's request was out of line.

Seems reasonable to use a period once in a while.
I thought Biker's request was well intended, and worded in a very friendly way, not critical.

Just switched today to direct TV. We still have Comcast for landline and high speed internet but $100 a month for internet seems high. Any recommendations?

We dumped Comcast yesterday. They tried and tried to woo us into staying. NOPE. Maybe they should start with providing good customer service when I am actually a customer! Soo happy to be rid of Comcast!

I also pay $103 per month for just internet with Comcast and it burns me that I had to buy a package that include TV and don't use the TV portion. I was all set to go to Century Link and then began reading some of the past posts about them and changed my mind. A fast internet connection is important to us and I guess we will just have to bite the bullet for now.

Those bloodsuckers! No wonder people hate their guts! We pay $54.99 for just internet, and that's to darned much. We are going to call them and try to get that lowered because we know others are paying half that. Good luck!

We are paying $77 per month, which includes the cost of renting their modem. We did buy a modem but returned it because it didn't include the router. Or is that the other way around.

Anyway, hope to replace rented modem soon. I should call and negotiate for a "special" or something, but I'm not very good at that.

I'm not expecting any advice here, Villages friends. Remembering hows things used to be, I just needed to rant.

We've have Centurylink for internet going on four years and never had a modem. In the kitchen at the end of the bar, there is a 2 in 1 phone jack like below. One jack is for the telephone and the other jack is for the computer. They call our service 'to the curb', we just plug our computer straight into the jack, or if we want to move the computer around we plug in a router. The router is also necessary for using our smart TV and it works fine.

We also have phone because it's only $59.99 for both, it would of been almost the same without the phone. We get unlimited long distance, caller ID and call block. Our internet is 10 mpbs, I could bump it up to 40 mpbs for another $20, but I don't really need it right now. Netflix and the computer work fine.

you get what you pay for when buying internet. I get Comcast blast which gets me a download speed in excess of 90mbps. if you don't want that kind of speed then get a cheaper package. ill bet half of the complainers on here don't even know what speed they are paying for.
