Default Another Scam Alert

Please keep this in mind and spread the word all that you can. It is only going to get worse as tax season gets closer. One thing to remember, never answer any email or phone call that you get requesting personal information. Banks and tax professionals, IE., the IRS, does NOT EVER send email or phone calls requesting personal information. If it looks to good to be true, IT IS.

Quote:
The post card scam is just a start. I have received 3 e-mails in the last two days to update my banking information. All three requests looked to be very official but the problem is that I do not have an account at any of those banks. I have one bank and know all the people there and know that they will never request information via e-mail.

A friend has received over a dozen e-mail requests to have his taxes done over the internet. What a great way to gain someones personal information. He has been in contact with authorities regarding this.

Please spread the word and have a great day.
The quoted message is from another poster who as received these type of emails.

Be safe, keep you money in your pocket, and remember the easiest way to double your money is fold it over and put it back in YOUR pocket.

This is a little tricky. Fedex CAN have your email address. I do a lot of shipping through them and put my email and the purchaser's email in the shipping box info online for notification/tracking along the way and to be notified when the package is delivered or if there is an 'exception'/ problem.
It would boil down to if you're expecting a package or not.

Angiefox10, yes, this is a good place to post all the scams. Everyone needs to know that all are not out there to help us, other than to separate us from our fun money.

Isn't that the role of the U.S. Government?
