Driving out of the bubble today I am reminded how our neighbors care. Flags respectfully displayed in yard after yard. What a great community in a truly great country. Happy 4th of July!

Hubby was out early this morning lining our corner lot with lots of flags. Love that he is so patriotic. One of the first things he bought when we moved here was a flag pole installed in our yard.

When we take the flag down, we ALWAYS fold it properly.

Yes we are both proud Americans.

Yes. Most seems quite good in the Villages right now. A few minor glitches here and there but it is a beautiful day in the Villages.

I will miss participating in the Rotary Chicken Barbeque held every year at the airport on the 4th and then watching the fireworks display after the barbeque. I heard that there were fireworks in the Villages at one time. Now one must go to another community to watch them?

I do like to see all of the flags and have a large one flying at my house!

In the local paper today and I quote “No Independence Day is complete without a dazzling fireworks display, so head down to Leesburg for the city’s Fourth of July celebration taking place from 6 to 10 p.m. at Venetian Gardens, 201 E Dixie Ave.”

Many years ago, Grimes Manufacturing in Urbana would pay for the fireworks display that the Rotary Club would direct. Now, Rotary solicits monies from local businesses and individuals to cover the cost of the fireworks. Sometimes, Rotary funds are used to make up the difference if needed.

We felt that in our community no Independence Day is complete without a dazzling fireworks display.

I would add my thanks and blessings to our veterans and current service personnel. Without your sacrifices and willingness to serve, we might not be as blessed as we are to enjoy life as we currently know it.

It makes my heart happy to see so much love for this land. Such heartfelt patriotism.

I am proud to live here.

My husband did ours. And then, because she just had a knee replacement, he went down and did our neighbors'.

We are one of the few countries so emotionally attached to our flag. It means so much to Americans, and it's so heartwarming to see all the beautiful displays.

Happy Fourth.
