Default Storm shield

I have an app called Storm Shield on my iPhone. It went off at 4 this morning issuing a tornado watch. The cell phone works great for weather alerts.

I just posted a longer version of this from the Weather Channel, two hours ago. Look at my other new post......click on the hyperlink which shows the path of the storm.....along the Gulf coast to the panhandle and then north.

""Most of central and southern Florida was under a tornado watch as the storm approached with its 50-60 mph wind gusts churning up 10- to 14-foot seas, the weather service said. Seas up to 16 feet were expected further north.""

""A tornado was confirmed on the ground in Myakka City, Fla., south of Tampa, early Thursday, the weather service said, adding that power lines were down and a small building was in a road.
Further inland, heavy rains ahead of the storm brought flood watches for Thursday and Friday across virtually all of South Carolina as well as west-central North Carolina and much of Georgia. The Florida Panhandle, southeastern Alabama and far southern Georgia were at risk as early as Wednesday evening.""

Ditto. My husband loves his weather apps on his iphone.
At least you would be aware if it were to hit in the middle of the night.

It's really funny how it's raining in some parts of The Villages, like the southern region......but not in the other parts????

But then again, it's a huge land mass......

We do have storms that go right above our town or on the edge of it;
or south of it.......and spare us downed trees and power lines........
We seem to be in a very protected area......whereas right over the border in New York State, they are always getting hit pretty badly by the winds.....leaving longterm power outages.
Ditto for south of us in Massachusetts........

Thanks and thanks for the heads up on apps. Good to have another back up plan. Our radio didn't alert either. Heard there was a Watch for Sumter County earlier.

Go to the APP Store on your Ipad and type in STORM SHIELD. It's $4.99.
Good Luck.

There are also many free apps.
