Interesting. Since every piece of film I've ever seen did not include him...

Apparently, he refused permission to be filmed at the concert... I never knew that! (and I'm a HUGE Neil Young fan!)

The reason why Neil Young refused to be filmed at Woodstock

If it makes us feel a little better, $1.00 in 1969 is equal to about $8.38 in 2023.
$700 = $5866 today.

Default Great era in my life

So I was 14 when "it" took place. What a show it must have been. But would not have been interested in all the mud and stuff.
Anyway after the show my best friend and I were in Ocean city MD for a week with our families.
We would walk the boardwalk and if any chicks, oops young ladies, talked with us we would tell them we had just gotten back from woodstock. It really helped open up conversation.
Anyway again hello anyone ever see alvin lee playing Im Going Home. He introduced the song as this ones called Im going home by helicopter. Best live song I have ever not seen in person.

Didn’t make it to Woodstock, but 3 days before on Aug 12, I saw Jefferson Airplane, BB King and the Who perform at Tanglewood in the Berkshires.

One of my biggest regrets in life, is not going to Woodstock. I had friends who were going, and wanted me to come. I said, "Where is it again?" They told me and I said, "That's in the middle of nowhere, no one is going to show up!" I've never been so wrong.... LOL I would have loved being there, rain, mud... all of it.

There's also a Woodstock concert at Whispering Oak Winery at 5 pm Wed Dec 6. We're going, but I don't remember who's performing.

I was only 13 at the time, going into 9th grade that year. I knew about it because I grew up in Orange County and lived a little over an hour southwest of Woodstock.

Missed Woodstock, but was at California Jam. I would have to say it gave Woodstock a run for it's money. It was much better executed and set what were then records for the loudest amplification system ever installed, the highest paid attendance, and highest gross in history. I was several hundred yards from the stage perched atop the curved top raceway fence for over 12 hours...
