Let's wait until the investigation is completed. It just seems a convenient story. I hope I am wrong but it happens. Now don't go jumping all over me I am just bringing up the possibility. Most businesses deposit their daily cash and receipts after closing. If this was just an employee why would he have access to cash that late. If it was a manager that may be different but again lets wait and see what the investigation finds out.

Very strange,,, wonder how they got in without being heard??? They walked thur the unlocked front door. Nobody locks doors in TV. And, how did he see the 2nd man, out a window?? When the first man ran out they ran out behind him and seen the second man.

All the articles regarding the robbery say pretty much the same thing. Two men robbed and employee of the Evans Prairie Country club at gunpoint around 1 AM Monday morning. The amount of money taken is undisclosed. The daily Sun states two males robbed him before the end of his shift.
Despite the fact there is nothing to indicate he was robbed of anything more than his personal on hand cash, according to the knowledgable sources on TOTV, he was most likely walking around with the cash receipts Evans Prairie took in that day. This despite the fact TOTV experts also state he couldn't have the cash since it's deposited earlier in the evening. So until there is definitive information this was in fact a business related robbery, let's stick with the few known facts, a guy was robbed at gun point, he happened to work at Evans Prairie. Glad he didn't work at Citizens Bank! |

Perhaps……he said he was robbed, but it wouldn't be the first time someone made up a story to cover themselves or others. The Police Detectives will sort it out in the end.

Alrighty then. P.S. Sweetie loved his father's day meal. I didn't spend too much time on TOTV as you suggested. I was able to cook something nice. As to the comments made. NO one said anything mean about ANYONE. We were just having a conversation.

Have any of you ever worked in the restaurant business? No the CC is not open even relatively close to 1 am but the time is takes to close down a restaurant at the end of the night is a long process. And at the end of nights it's not just like you close up shop, there are a lot of things that have to be covered to wrap up the day. It was more than likely a manager there who was closing, and no managers don't just walk around the restaurant with the cash from the days work on them. And why wouldn't a manager have access to the money if they are a closing manager? They do have offices in restaurants. And do you think there is only a front door access to the place?
Did anyone ever think that maybe it could be an old employee that knew the odds and ends of how the process for this restaurant works? And why would the front doors be open after closing? What resturants have you been to that keep the front doors unlocked after they are closed? Maybe before anyone you make assumptions you should wait for all the details! |

What was someone doing at Evans Prairie at 1 am?
In my part of The Villages everything shuts down at 9pm and they roll up the streets at 9:30. |

I was thinking, from the article, that it happened as the employee came out of the building, probably carrying the $$. They wore dark masks and approached in the parking lot.

When I worked in the restaurant business (20 yrs)--I was the closing Mgr and worked 2nd shift.
At the end of the night we put all the $$ collected that night into the floor safe- which we DID NOT have the combination. We left the cash register open with a $20 bill (bait) in it positioned near the camera. Once that $20 was pulled- the camera would take the robber's pic. No $$ should ever be laying around a restaurant after Closing Time!! |
