I know nothing about Short Hills, NJ but a shooting can happen anywhere in America. However, The Villages ain't NJ, Chicago, NY or LA.

Most of us have way more than we deserve and should be grateful that we live in this land especially on Independence Day July 4th. Put out your flags no matter what "toys" you have or don't have. God Bless The USA!

Short Hills, an area with multi million $ homes--was supposed to be immune from violent crime. It can happen anywhere down-just keeps the odds

I've read all these responses to the OP and have to say I detected not one scintilla of envy in Chatbrat's original post. What I heard was that it's not wise to broadcast to an unknown audience anything that could potentially jeopardize one's personal safety. I took it as a sound observation, and a concern for those who make themselves vulnerable. There are good reasons for not "wearing one's wealth", and it has nothing to do with paranoia. There has been a rise in class envy in this country, and there are those who want what you've got. The OP doesn't seem like that type. Just sayin'...

Still, the original message was in good faith, don't you think?

... Don't waste time worrying about getting robbed.
There are lots of articles about antique cars or specialty golf carts -- many in TV are wealthy and have a lot of stuff.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that people with premier homes, or who live in Bridgeport or Harmsworth have lots of disposable income.
If the people with the Jags get robbed, I'll eat the Agree Sign. But I don't think I'll have to!

Not sure what your point is? We purchased lots of things with credit, were able to take advantage of the tax deduction, and retired at 55 with a great pension!. Oh yeah, an a credit score through the roof so I get the advantage of lower rates for insurance, etc. which are partly based on your credit.
