Had Geico for many years. Then switched to Hartford through AARP and saved some money. Last year, I asked Villages Insurance if they could find me a better rate. Now I have Progressive. Same coverage at a much better rate. Progressive sent me something to plug into my car to monitor my driving habits for a few months. Since I don't drive the car that much (golf cart is my primary vehicle), I qualified for a big discount. Villages Insurance also helped me find home insurance and golf cart insurance. They do a great job shopping around for you.

I had Hartford via AARP until I bought a GEM. They could not insure it, so I switched to Allstate. Found out later that Allstate did not cover me for Uninsured Motorist (I would expect most of the contractors do not have full coverage, so if they hit you, they don't pay) so I checked around and found coverage for nearly half of what I was paying through AAA. Whoever you choose, you need to make sure you get Uninsured motorist coverage (not required in Florida).

changed from hartford aarp to liberty ins and saved $1000 a year for three cars.. no tickets no accidents just hartford kept going up

FYI "Uninsured Motorist" (UM)coverage pays if the at fault driver is uninsured. If the at fault party has inadequate policy limits to pay the claims of injured parties, you need "Underinsured Motorist" (UIM) coverage.

Bottom line, you need both uninsured and underinsured motorist coverages to protect yourself.

Check with Allstate, AARP, The Villages Insurance, USAA, State Farm. They gave us quotes and were the best rates we found (except for Safeco).

I got a quote from USAA and Progressive still beat them out. I think the low mileage might have made the difference for me. I have heard good things about USAA.
